Fantasy--Cabins 9554 or 6540--Obstructed Verandahs?

I have holds on both of these balcony cabins. I've seen conflicting reports on both, and searched and looked at the photos of the ship and for the life of me (maybe it's my poor eyesight) I can't figure whether either of these has one of those obstructed verandahs (the white metal part/decorative piece). Does anyone know? Trying to decide between the 2--both are starboard. Thanks!

9554 has the outer skin on the forward side of balcony,
6540 has no outer skin. Opens into elevator lobby fwiw.
Both have bunk, so sleep 4 pax.

This would be a tough decision for us. Skin can be your friend. lol. It's not that bad.

Thanks for the help. The skin doesn't bother us, but all the reviews say that there is no noise from the elevators, so I think we are going to save $168 and just go with 6540. I believe that at one time 9954, because it's a Cat 5A, would have let us book dining and excursions earlier than we could in 6540, a CAT 5E, but am I correct that such distinction is now gone? Unless we go Concierge (unavailable), as a 1st time Disney cruiser the first time we can book anything is 75 days out, correct?

I never heard of earlier bookings for dining and excursions because you were in a cat 5. Since we've cruised DCL, it's always been by Castaway Club level or Concierge.

We are booked in 9554 for our March fantasy cruise. Does not even look like an issue IMO. I heard from another Dis poster who stayed in same room on dream and said nothing to be concerned with! Looks like more privacy to me. We were in 10554 last cruise and I actually liked the overhang on deck 10.

I agree, although it may be a touch more than, no noise. But you're good.
Some love these cabins that open to the lobbies. They feel it is actually an extension of the cabin.
I can totally relate. Think about it. You open your cabin door and you could have 5 feet, or, ... 30 feet. It changes the feel of the cabin definitely. As long as you understand the privacy issue.
You open your cabin door and those pax in lobby could see out you balcony. IFYKWIM.

As others stated, never existed at this cabin level. Must have been a concierge cabin.

Correct. 75 days out for newbies. As concierge it's actually 125 days out theoretically, for requests with shore side. Prior to platinum sailors, at 120 days out.
