Is this an invitation? I am not skilled at using a computer. Do not have 10 posts yet.

How does a newbie join up? I am so looking forward to my next cruise and want to be a part of the FE groups. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Yay! Glad to finally see a thread for this group and excited to see all the people going. We were lucky enough to only have to wait 30 minutes or so to book. It's crazy to hear people waited for hours!!! We would love to join an FE group so once you have that up and loaded let me know and I'll provide our info!
Is anyone interested in the post card exchange? I saw a post about it and now can not find it. Sounds like fun. Disney people are usually very friendly.

I do not feel so bad. We had three phones going and still took us almost two hours to get in then 45 minutes in queue to talk to someone, we did not get cut off. All of our 4 picks were gone by this time and we are in category 5D more than we wanted to spend but what the hey, desk 6 forward. This is our 3rd Members cruise and 5th Disney cruise. Looking forward to this cruise...smjj
Wow. We were very lucky. My husband got through on his first try. He was on 2 phones and both connected right away. He held on to both until he got a live person and then he hung up the other phone. That has never happened to us before. We even got the cabin I wanted!
6 phones going here! We were very lucky, they answered at 8:02, we were on hold for 15 minutes until we spoke with someone. Didn't get our first choice, (because we were after the 5E which there are hardly any!), so our next choice was 5D. By 9:00 we were off the phone! This is our first member cruise, we are beyond excited!!! 363 days and counting!!!

This will be our 6th DCL cruise and we will be gold members. Does this get us anything special as it relates to booking times onboard or free stuff??...smjj
Your gift bag and lanyard will be a different color. We love Disney cruises. Went on a different cruise line in March and it reaffirmed our desire to be more selective when it comes to cruise lines. The Disney people grouped together are a fun crowd.

Sorry to have to ask this (I'm only ever on here to join the FE group), but how do you send a PM? I can't find where to go. Thanks!
I read in Tech Support that your have to have 10 posts before you can PM. After you hit 10 posts, it might take a few days for it to register.

We really like the new Soarin! We have FPs for the Frozen Ever After ride on Sunday!

I was on the 3 night January MC, this is the suitcase we got. Same hat, I think!

I keep my cruising things in it!

I think a coffee mug would be a nice gift. I talked to one person who said they got a tea set once as a gift. That sounds nice. The beach towel also is a great idea. We have been thinking about the gifts but never took pictures of them. Will start doing that.

Has anyone heard yet on the entertainment or special quest? The last Member's cruise we were onhad Roy Disney and that was very interesting...smjj
We were on that cruise also! I think that Roy is my favorite special guest so far. The stories he told were fantastic.

This will be my family's first cruise. We are so excited. We joined DVC in 2010 and have been excited for the cruises ever since they started. My son will be 8 for the first cruise and missing the first week of school. There wouldn't have been another way to go then to talk him also. Any tips for the first time cruiser/DVC cruise would be greatly appreciated.
Try not to over pack. If needed, there are laundry facilities on the ships. You will probably spend a lot of time in swimsuits. Two swimsuits might be nice to have. Be sure to leave room in your suitcases for the daily gifts. If you are flying home, this could be a problem. Some people complained that the gifts were too big, so now we get Pins for a few of the gifts. Also, they did not give gifts twice a day on our last cruise, just in the evening. That was disappointing. Most of your needs are provided. Disney is much better than some other cruise lines in providing amenities. Just pack clothes, including a light jacket. The night breezes feel chilly when you are watching the movies outside.

:welcome: to our cruise meet! congratulations on getting to 10 posts. If you check your inbox, you should find an FE invite for this cruise.

Happy to have you join in.

Would someone explain what the different classifications of cabins mean? If some are nicer than others - how so - are they bigger or have different amenities or just better locations? I think we have a 5C with a veranda.

When we sail this, there will have been a DVC Member Cruise on all 4 ships. Of course. DCL has more ships planned, so it will be a fleeting grand status.

It was tough getting in today, but we made it!

Please post here, let's get to know each other before sailing!

Who is interested in organizing:

Pin trading
Scrap booking
Meets for a meal
Non Disney excursion

Anything else?

What we have planned so far:
I'll organize a Local Candy/Snack exchange
Poison ivy will organize a Dis FE. Great info sheet post #17
Shananana will organize mixology
Mathmagicland will work on getting us an avatar!

Let's meet at TTOTWL the night before!

If there is interest in a Local Candy/Snack exchange I will keep track of people here. No need to send information at this time. I've organized one on a few trips now. There has been as few as 3 and as many as 32 participants. I will have groups between 8 and 11 so no one gets a sugar overload. We pass out candy/snacks that have a local connection, but sometimes local means the same section of the country, state. We have received a bag of snack candies from the Hershey company. These were out of the ordinary, apparently Hershey gives locals some additional types. We've gotten potato shaped candies from Idaho and Cheese straws from Mississippi. I forget from where, but we got bags of cotton candy from the town where that first was sold! We've gotten flavored cookies from Key West. Salt water taffy from NJ and Salt Lake City. Lots more.

If you are interested, tell in the thread and I will list you here. If there are allergies, you will mention that when you give your cabin number and names of people in the cabin later. I imagine I will ask for specifics during the first 15 days of July, and cut off will be July 15.

What does TTOTWL stand for? I just found out that the inventor of the blow pop lives/lived(?) not far from me. I'll check to see if he invented any other candy, but I'll be bringing blow pops for the candy exchange!

So many choices. so many staterooms!

Here's a great video to get you started:

and here's a thread to help identify the cabins.

We've personally stayed in the following staterooms on the Fantasy and I'd be happy to share pics:

Disney Fantasy - Cabin 8517 - Standard Inside Stateroom - Cat 11A
Disney Fantasy - Cabin 8610 - Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Veranda - Cat 4B

It's actually TOTWL = Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower.

Top of the World Lounge! It's in BLT and as DVC members we have access to it when we stay at WDW!

Cabins are rated by size and location. That seems to sum up the differences.

I collect post cards and would be happy to join! Can I add your name to the organizers in the first post?

As we get to 4 months out, I'll ask for everyone's stateroom, names and if there are any allergies.

Just pulled out my passports and realized I need to renew them. Hope everyone takes a look at theirs to make sure theirs are up to date.

Just bumping this up. Any new ideas for group activities? I am really very happy that this is a week long cruise. Some of us are packing for the 4 night cruise that is next week!!!!!:)
