Fantasmic!

Hi guys, I will be visiting Disneyland soon and I wanted to get your opinion on Fantasmic. I have never seen the show in California, however I have seen it a couple of times in Florida and both times I was left disappointed. So.....

I wanted to check with people who have seen both shows whether they feel there is a big difference between the two. I am trying to convince my sister that we should give the show in California a chance in case it is a better experience. However, considering in Florida watching Fantasmic usually meant arriving really early and sitting around for ages to wait for the show (instead of being on rides), I do not want to do this in California if essentially it is the same experience as Florida. Plus I just know my sister would not let me forget it as I have already made her promise me that we will arrive to WOC at least 2 hours before!

Great Question. Many difference and in my preference it much better in DL.

I'm glad, F! as we call Fantasmic on the DL side of the board, I think it is better. Also the fireworks if you see our regular show is far and away better than anything at WDW. And World of Color, has no comparison at WDW, if you like the pixar generation of movies, don't miss it. You will wish WoC had a counterpart for WDW. Tell her to have fun and look for and enjoy the difference and parts Walt inspired.

Fantasmic is the most amazing show I've ever seen period!!!! nothing and i mean NOTHING compares to it...I saw the very first F! show and have a video tape of it and Ive seen it over a 100 times since then...I never go to DL without watching that show...I have learned all the choreograph and even the changes that have been made throughout the years and I know the music by heart...I could hum the entire thing to you no lie...you HAVE to go watch it

I see you're a new poster so just wanted to make sure you knew that you will need a special FastPass to see World of Color - showing up two hours before the show will mean nothing if you don't have an entry ticket to the viewing area. F! is my FAVORITE show in all of DLR! From many other posters who are WDW vets, it seems that the popular opinion is that F! is much better in DLR than DHS. You should definitely try to check it out.

For us, the best way to see the show is to try for the second showing of the night. During the first, make your way past ROA over towards Splash and Critter Country. Once the first show ends, you can turn around and as the hoards of people are leaving (and generally heading towards the hub), you swoop right in behind them and find a great seat without tons of wait time!

I completely agree - F! at Disneyland is INSANELY better than WDW. When I saw it at WDW I was SOOOO disappointed.

Wholeheartedly agree! I dislike the FL version and being an east coaster I get to WDW more often. Saw DL's version 2 years ago and can't wait to see it again in Sept - Soooo amazing!

One more vote for Fantasmic @ Disneyland!!!!!! We were so disappointed in the WDW show when we saw it years ago that we've never gone to see it again in 10 yrs (7 trips). Disneyland Fantasmic I could watch over & over again. I just love it!

Agreed, WDW F! was a big let-down. DLP F! is infinitely grander.

And World of Color, has no comparison at WDW

I've heard that before. Although I still haven't see WoC, it seems like it is similar to IllumiNations at Epcot...

A lot of people come to this conclusion. I don't know why maybe because they are both on lagoons. Maybe because they use lasers or fire, like F! and Fireworks too.

They are really not otherwise similar. And very different.

I think my biggest connection between them is the use of big water fountains. *sigh* Two more weeks then I can see for myself! Whatever the case, I'm sure WoC blows IllumiNations "out of the water"
