Hi Guys,

Just a quick question re Fantasmic....

Any idea how busy it will be in Feb :confused3 I have pencilled us in for going to the DHS on Sunday 21st and am just debating whether I should try to book a Fantasmic dining package at Mama Melrose or whether we just risk turning up and hope to get a seat :confused3

The two problems I have are:
I believe we might have to eat quite early to book the package and that doesn't really suit us although we could have a light lunch or miss lunch and then eat early...

If we don't book the package I think I read somewhere that they advise you to turn up 90 mins before show time :confused3 don't fancy that either :rotfl2:

Any thoughts :confused3 TBH we are not too bothered about where we end up sitting, just as long as we can see most of what's going on in the show :thumbsup2

Hello,

Re timing of the restaurant, we have just booked 4.40pm for August at Mama Melrose ... probably earlier than normally eat but did not want to stand around for two hours. Also you get three courses if you book as fantasmic package.:goodvibes

Just noticed you are going in February ...... assume it will not be that busy then, but will they have the same amount of shows on as august, which would then mean it might be busy - does that make sense?

the f! package is only offered during late afternoon, its just another way of filling a quiet slot in restaurants, we have done 3.30 and 4.30 on previous trips, think 90 mins for dinner, get a FP for a calm ride (TS mania is not recommened after dinner:rotfl2:) check out the last show of BATB etc, soak up the atmosphere, do be at the special entrance early, reports state it is no longer as orgnaised as it was, and can be chaos....
the F! package is over rated imho, the good we have had at h&V and MM was very poor, we are doing 50s PTC for the 1st time this year to avoid the crowds (both restauranrts were rammed when we were there)

can you do 50's on the fantasmic package?

We went last February and the arena/auditorium were as full as when we went in October. The reason for this is the fact that they only show Fantasmic twice a week so they are always going to be busy.
Both times we did the dinner package at Hollywood and Vine, and both times we turned up for the show about 20 minutes before it started and had no problems getting seats in the reserved area. Even when there was 8 of us we still managed to get seats altogether.

We always get there 90 mins before but we take counter service good in with us to help pass the time, I would never do the f! Packsge as I think the seats are rubbish over to one side. The cm have always entertained the kids and there are always Mexican waves going on etc while you wait. We sat from row in oct and it was amazing to be so close (although you did get a little wet but for us it was a relief in the oct humidity!)

We did the package and ate at Mama Melrose, it was worth it as we had a 5 year old at the time so it saved waiting around . The seats were fine for us.

I agree about the seats. The place is designed in such a way that there isn't a bad seat in the house in my opinion. We have sat front centre and in the reserved seating area and the show was as spectacular from both :thumbsup2

Thanks for all your replies :goodvibes but it turns out I have left it too late, all Fantasmic packages sold for the date we are thinking of going.

I might have a look to see if I can re-jig our planner or we will just have to queue :scared1:

Thanks again,

Ali :goodvibes
