We've never seen the show. Is it appropriate for a 7 and 5 year old? (Boy and girl).

Thanks!

As long as they are ok with fireworks close range, loud popping, and bright lights...oh and there's some fire and water spraying going on too.

We sat thru last Thanksgiving with my 5 and 2yo. My 2yo got scared during the dragon part because it was really dark and we could feel the heat from the flames. We were maybe 15 rows from the top of the stadium.

Our kids were fine even at 2 and 4.

I'd recommend you watch it on YouTube and judge. Some kids are afraid of the villains - big snake and dragon.

It takes the fun out of it for you a bit, but we get used to that as moms ;)

Great idea - thanks! I want to surprise the kids with the trio, but I think giving them ideas will help. I'm just telling them we're planning for 2016 :). (Or maybe we'll just choose a later date thank we're going. Thanks for the thought - don't know why I didn't think of that!

My afraid of everything 5 year old was just fine with Fantasmic. (It was the first time we'd even tried).

And my daredevil 6-year-old cried her eyes out the entire show LOL. I should note that my youngest draws the line at "creepy", and Fantasmic is indeed "creepy". The basic premise is, "what if Mickey had a nightmare?". DD LOVES fireworks, and has no trouble with flashing lights & loud bangs. It was the creepy images & music that did her in.

My DS7 LOVED it! Highly recommend booking it as part of the dine package. It was so nice to have a reserved section and not have to fight with the masses for seating.

I am wondering the same thing about our 4 yo. Are the crows getting in Fantasmic that bad at the end of April? I thought I would not wait inline and get there after people have gotten in, and then get a seat close to the exit and as high as possible. Is that doable?

My 7 yr old was freaked out by it. He hated the villians part and the loud music was sort of villian like and it freaked him out. He was scared the whole time. He does want to try it again this year but he said he wants to sit farther back. We were in like the 3rd row last time so maybe if we are sitting a little farther back it won't be as scary.

It was a favorite of my boys even as preschoolers. I have seen kids very scared, but many of them are toddlers. I have seen a few older kids a bit unsure but what helps is the action is pretty far away from you and that takes the edge off of the fear factor. Its easy to exit if they really would get scared.

We just saw this with a 7 (turned 8 on trip) and 5 year old - both loved it. Well, other than the cold. Don't sit in the front row unless you want to be soaked (not pleasant in January) - the flames at the end dry you off fairly nicely though ;)

Unless they're really timid, they should be fine. However, it's not an easy show to see. You have to get there early, and the crowds are so thick. It's a little easier with the dining package with reserved seating, but it's still not a cake walk. With kids that age, the overall package may make it not worth it. If you're giving up the chance to ride good rides, or a much-needed early night, or something else important, I'd skip it.
