Fantasmic, what time . . .

going over to mgm this saturday, just for the day. i was wondering what time do you start going over to fantasmic to get a seat? i think it starts at 9:00 p.m. saturday.

also, if you have been there recently, how were the crowds? should we get in line early?

We went a couple of Fridays ago when it started at 8pm.

We asked a CM what time they recommended coming back and they said about half an hour before the show starts, in previous years we have been told to arrive at least an hour before the show starts.

It is probably best to check with a CM around late afternoon, they are usually pretty clued up on this.

It also depends on where you like to sit. In 2001 we showed up the first time like 45 minutes early. It's not a bad wait at all if you bring food and a lovely beverage with you If you're not shy, you can have some great interaction with the guests around you too. But I digress. At 45 minutes early we were seated in the center of the stands, and we enjoyed the view a lot.

Two nights later we arrived 30 minutes prior -- again, lovely beverage in hand! -- and we were seated farther to our left. The water screen blocked some of what we saw the previous night, and we were somewhat disappointed.

One thing I guess you could do if you don't like your seat is get up after the next section starts to fill up and move farther left (it's harder to move toward the right). But if you want to be nearer the exit for a quick getaway afterwards, then the earlier the better. If you don't care where you sit and don't want to be shut out, 30 minutes will probably do on most nights.

Also, if there's more than one show, the 2nd one is usually much easier as far as getting a good seat goes.
