I'm just curious if anyone has taken young children to the Fantasmic show(I think that is what its called) at MGM. I have read that it can be kind of intense. I was thinking about taking my 6 year old, who by the way was really frightened of Snow Whites Scary Adventures last year, even though she insisted on going on it. I really don't think my four year old will go for it ! My daughter likes fast rides, was on Splash Mountain at 4 years old, has anyone tried Space Mountain with a 6 year old (she makes the height requirement). Thanks for any input! :flower1:

We did both with DD when she was 6. She has always been a "thrill" ride lover so Space Mountain was no big deal. Just prepare you child for the fact you sit in front of each other in the space ship and not side by side. She had already ridden bigger and faster (She has always been tall for her age). :flower1:

Fantasmic was a mixed reaction. Overall she was okay with it but for a few minutes she closed her eyes and covered her ears. When we wnet back at age 8 she love the whole show.

My DD was tall enough at 5 for Space Mt. and loved it. If your child enjoys thrill rides, she'll probably like it. We always made sure we told our DD what to expect on questionable rides. Are far as Fantasmic...if Ursula & the Queen in Snow White scare your child, you might skip it. The character and some of the fire effects can be scary.

if your daughter enjoys thrill rides, she'll like Space Mountain. i think if she loved splash she'll be good for it. i was terrified on space mt until i was 22 years old, though i enjoyed splash mt at 14. then again i was afraid to go on an upside-down rollercoaster until i was in college

We went last May and my DS was 6...just made the cut-off heighth requirement. He rode it 11 times...no kidding. He loved it. My 7 year old at the time...didn't ride it for the first 5 days we were there and finally got the nerve up the last day and absolutely loved it!!! Also, Fantasmic is AWESOME and I wouldn't miss it. You really aren't close enough ( in stadium type seating) for your child to get too scared. I think your little one will love it! Have a great time!!!\

We went to Fantasmic last year with a five year old. She absolutely loved it!
It was her favorite thing for the whole trip. Re: Space Mountain--assuming that someone is going to ride along with them, the only concern would be the darkness. I had brought a small keychain flashlight with me during the trip and let her hold it on all the "dark" rides e.g. Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, etc. She thought of it as a magic light and pressed it whenever she got nervous. She had a great time on all the rides. Hope this helps.

My DD was 6 when she 1st went on Space Mountain and 1st went to Fantasmic. She LOVED both!

I took my girls, 8 and 3 at the time to Fantasmic...and they both loved it. My 3 yr old was mesmerized, and they thought it was 'cool!'
As far as Space Mtn..my oldest loved it...and my little one can't wait til she's tall enough!!
