We have never been to DHS before and have never done the dining plan either. Can someone tell me if you pretty much have to get a dinner package in order to get a good seat or seat at all for Fantasmic? I hate to use 2 TS credits on anything especially a restaurant we wouldn't normally eat at. IF this is the only way to ensure seeing fantasmic though I will do it. I have heard it is not to be missed. I will have my 3 boys with me, ages 11,8 and 2 and I'm sure they will love it. Thanks for the help.

IMHO the Fantasmic Dinner package only saves you 15/20 minutes over general seating. The dinner seating is on the far right of the staduim and its still first come first serve. We have done it a few times but only if we wanted to eat at one of the participating restaurants anway. (Our fav is Mama Melrose)

The alternative is to arrive about an hour early, grab your spot and then just get counter service from the food stands in the theater. You can also bring counter serve with you into the theater from another quick serve restaruant in the Studios but we usually just buy inside. Bring some light up toys or other small entertainment for the kids and hope the hour passes quickly !!

We've never had the dinner package and have NEVER had a bad seat. We usually have dinner a little early (say 4:30 or 5 p.m. at our resort... we go back to the resort for a break most afternoons). Then, we head back to HS for the evening. And we make sure to get to Fantasmic about 1 hour before the show starts. You might want to go even earlier if you're going during a high crowd time.... Take turns taking the kids to the restroom and pick up some kind of snack and the time goes by pretty quickly.

Thanks for the replies. I have decided not to use the 2 credits then. I really wasn't going to eat at those restaurants otherwise so this frees up those credits for something else. This dining package is hard to organize, lol. We are giong in late Sept./early Oct. so hopefully the crowds won't be bad. Do you know what time the show starts so I can figure out what time to be done eating? THanks again.

That is great advice! When we went last year with our 3 boys - almost 2, 5 and 8 at the time. We did do the dinner Pkg and were glad we did as I had never seen the parks so crowded in all my life. It did ensure us a great seat, especially with the younger one of the bunch. In the future, when the bos are older, we will probably do as the PP said -get our meals and camp out w/i the theater.

You will not be diappointed with the show - we found it very amazing and a highlight of our trip!!! :wizard:

I agree with every one else that you will probably be fine without getting the package unless you will be there at a super busy time. I do want to point out that the package only uses one entitlement unless you choose to use it at the Brown Derby.

I just booked my ADR, and it was only 1 TS for the Mama Melrose Fantasmic Pkg.......
