I just made a Fantasmic reservation for The Brown Derby. Looking at the kids menus on line that was the restaurant that had what I can eat. Disney Dining suggested that I call the restaurant to make sure that they are ok with my paying the childs price since it is a dinner package.

I did and they said no problem at all. My reservation was already noted by Disney Dining.

I was worried that Disney would not be the same without the great meals but
I am finding some very healthy menus at some restaurants and I will still get to enjoy the restaurants.

Most counter service places are still out for me but the sit down restaurants prices for the kids meals are not that much more. I was pleasantly surprised.

I was thinking that we would be eating off site more but once I looked at the menus and the prices of the kids meals are not that bad. Even though I can only eat a small amout it is worth it to enjoy the atmosphere!

Add in the 50 pounds I lost in 2 months and I am now at a size 16! I am one happy camper!

Hey Lisa!

Congrats on the weight loss. I had GB about 5 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. I lost 175 pounds, more than half of myself! We went to Disney a couple of years ago, and they were wonderful to me. Charged me for a child at all the buffets and character meals, split meals for me with my DGD, and provided me with sugar free desserts. The chefs from a lot of the restaurants called me after noting my sugar allergy to discuss it. All of the restaurants are familiar with the GB card. I don't use my card at home, but with the prices at Disney and no more than I eat, I didn't feel a bit bad. Have fun!

That is good to know. I had Lap Band surgery last April and I am down over 100 pounds and I just hate the idea of having to pay Adult prices when I will not even finish a kids meal if I tried. So all I have to do is show my card saying I had the surgery and they should charge me for a kids meal? I had no idea they would do that but that is very good to know. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info! I also had gastric bypass surgery and am down 100+ lbs. It is SO much easier to walk at Disney these days! I usually order from the adult menu and then my DH eats what I can't finish. It's good to know though that at a restaurant with a decent kid's menu, I could order from there instead.
