i have heard that if we eat at mama melrose, hollywood and vine or brown derby that we can do the package that reserves seats for fantasmic. any thoughts on which restaurant to choose? we are 2 adults and one teen, not picky eaters. so hard to choose!

We only do Mama Melrose. We've always had great service and good food.
You could not pay us to eat at Hollywood & Vine--literally. I won't step foot in the place after two horrendous experiences.
We haven't done Brown Derby in six years--found it overrated with mediocre food and definitely not worth two table credits on the dining plan per person.

We're doing the package in early April but hadn't originally planned to. I'm concerned that with the reduced schedule for F! that we would miss it entirely. We've never seen it and now the kids are old enough to enjoy it without being too scared.

BTW KatMark, we're doing H&V!! DW and kids are picky eaters, so it's buffets for us.

Can someone explain to me how this would work with the Deluxe Dining Plan? Or if it would work at all??? I have the same concern that since they have knocked Fantasmic down to twice a week we will miss it but we are on the DDP so I need to figure out what to do.

On either dining plan, all you do is call and reserve the Fantasmic Dining Package for the restaurant you want. (Brown Derby will cost 2 credits per person. The other restaurants cost 1). You will be asked to give a credit card number to guarantee the reservation. The card will be charged a no-show fee if you dont' show up. Please take note of the cancellation deadline.

All Fantasmic package reservations are early, I believe before 6 PM.

We have only done the Fantasmic Package at Mama Melrose and Hollywood and Vine. Since we don't really enjoy buffets, we usually go to Mama Melrose. The calamari is great and the tiramisu is wonderful.

A lot of people like H&V and I am happy that they have somewhere at the Studios to eat (the Studios lack in food offerings in our opinion). We've just had two really bad experiences with service, filthy and food and choose not to go back. I will say they have a great dessert area.

We ate at Mama Melrose and the food was great and the service wonderful. We were so stuffed. They gave us an appetizer, entree, desert and drink for each of us!

We have a package at H&V next month. We weren't going to do one either, but I am paranoid that we won't get to see the show otherwise. I read so many reviews of MM that said the service was unbearably slow, that we decided to do H&V to avoid that problem.
