Has anyone been to Disney within the last 2 months? How are the crowds? I went to Disney December during xmas of 99 and did not purchase the Fantasmic Dinner package and got excellent front row center seats. Last year in February I purchased the Dinner package and although I was guaranteed a seat, but it was far right, the view was okay.

This year I will be returning but a week before xmas and although I have a fantasmic package on reserve I'm wondering will it be worth it? I'm going with a family of six. And I realize there is only one showing per day during the time that I will be going. But will the crowds really be thick just before xmas. Do I still have a fair chance getting good seats and just waiting in line.

B/c I'm gointo with a family of 6 I'm tring to save some money. I would really appreciate your opinion on this matter . Thank you:bounce:

This time of year you'll probably need to show up 90 minutes early to get those front and center seats. Maybe a little earlier. I'd do that and save the dinner money. The time passes quickly and with the crowds the way they are this time of year, the rest is nice.....spruce

We were there in October and got there 90 minutes early.........no one was there yet. It was a very long wait. People came in 30 minutes before and were still getting pretty good seats, there really aren't bad seats. I would not want to pay for those package deals!!!

I haven't been to WDW during the Christmas rush.
But, if I WERE, and I REALLY wanted to see Fantasmic, I would probably break down and go with the least expensive choice.
If I had to go with BD or Mama's, I would probably pass.
We ate at MM once and weren't that impressed, and seems like the meal is more limited there, from other posts I have read.
BD we usually eat at, but we would be spending almost double what we normally do just to get a seat.
By the end of the day, it can be nice to have a place to sit, in case you have to get there early.
Plus I would be really ticked to pay extra for a meal only to have something happen where Fantasmic was cancelled. Your result would just be over paying for a meal, and eating somewhere you probably would not have anyway.
We will be there in January, so I will just take my chances. The last two Januarys have been pretty dead. If Disney continues the current FDP program, I will pass.
I didn't even make a PS at BD. We wanted something different so are trying Prime Time.
I too don't think any seat is bad. But everyone does prefer the mid section, and it is slightly better.
I say it depends on how often you go to WDW, how bad you want to see Fantasmic, and if you are willing to wait a little longer to get a seat you would rather have anyway.

Just my opinion but I would not use the money on this package. We have been twice, once in the summer of 2000 and just got there early, 90 min. and got very good seats right in the middle. This year we went the first week of Dec. and got there an hour early and had the same excellent seats! It feels good to set down for awhile and wait anyway, and the people that had the package just didn't have the same good seats, like you said, over to the far right. It didn't start filling up until probably 40 min. until show time. I feel like the package deal is a waste, but I've never been there right before X-Mas. If I was on a strict budget, I definitely would not purchase it!!

I am glad to read all the opinions on the FDP. I was back and forth on whether to keep my PS at Hollywood and Vine. This is the cheapest option and it is still around $75 for 2 adults, and 2 kids (3 and 5). I cancelled today and will just take my chances on December 23rd.

Not sure how it works now but we recently did the dinner at Hollywood and Vine to get the vouchers for Fantasmic. We loved the dinner buffet and would go back just to eat there. It worked good for us.
