We are planning to have our pre-dinner drink in the hotel lobby (Grand Californian) and then head over to BB for our dinner reservation. The flaw in my plan is getting through the 5:30 parade crowd for a 6 PM reservation.

After a big discussion during dinner we finally decided which option to reserve. I went to reserve on Friday, Jan. 9th and it is unavailable. Maybe the rumors of refurb are true? Word was they would continue F! With WOC going under refurb. Guess I will just keep a look out.

I also tried booking for that weekend, but someone earlier mentioned a CM telling them there was a glitch on reservations past 1/6. I'm hoping that's it.

Still they are charging 61 so they would still make their money on any selection on the menu.

Oh definitely, but a reasonable amount. Obviously not everyone will order the Surf and Turf -- but if they did and it normally cost $41.00 for the entrée, 4.00 for a drink and then whatever dessert costs you, you would probably be into that meal at least $51.00. So I don't think it's too unreasonable to pay and extra $10.00 for the fast pass and the cushion since we have to eat anyway. Now, would we have eaten there if we didn't want the fast pass? Not sure, but we have always wanted to try it so this gives us a good reason. It is a little steep when there are 9 of us, but everything is when you travel with that many people.

Hopefully it's worth it but I can see this not being an "every trip" event.

I called this morning and was able to book the BB Fantasmic package for Monday, Jan 12, so unfortunately I think the unavailability on Jan 9 and 10 likely means it's already sold out. I would definitely give them a call to confirm though (website was not working for me this morning so I called right at 7 am and only had about a 2 minute wait.) Good luck!

The F! 3 course meal is appetizer, entree, and dessert. I've heard the main entrees are the regular ones, but I don't know about the appetizer or dessert. I'm guessing the appetizer is the same as the regular menu now (salad or gumbo) which is included in the entree price there. I'm guessing the "upgrade to the shrimp cocktail" is probably not included in the price.

Going by the July 2014 menu on allears.net, the surf and turf is $45.99 (appetizer included). According to mouseplanet, the desserts are all $8.99. So that's a total of $54.98. Now obviously not everyone is going to get the surf and turf (though I might!). But $6 for a souvenir cushion and FP to probably one of the best viewing areas is totally worth it for me!
