Fantasmic in October?

Who thinks doing the Fantasmic dinner package is neccessary in early October? I saw on allears that if you do Mama Melrose with the package you have to pcik from a fixed menu & I did not want what was listed as the choices so I was thinking about doing mm's early (maybe 4pm) & getting to fantasmic an hour before...anyone not do fantasmic package & what time did you get there? Thanks

We went to WDW the first week of October last year. It was great crowd wise. Very quiet. We arrived at Fantasmic about 35 minutes early that time w/o any problems getting a seat. Unfortunately, you can just never be too sure though.

I was going to post the same question but we are going close to halloween time

Now we went at Halloween in 2003 (We really like October at WDW). Anyhow, we found that it was a bit more crowded then. At about 50 minutes before the show- the CM's were saying they'd be at capacity within a few minutes. We found both times of year to be really great crowd wise (compared to other times we went). However the very early part of October was still less crowded than late October.

Hi there...we are going the 13th-22nd of October and are taking a chance...We just didn't want to be tied into the package. Judging from last year we should be okay...but as was said...you just never know!!

Every time I have been in October - I have not made Fantasmic reservations and arrived about 35 minutes ahead of time - the theater was less than half full -I have never seen it full in Oct.

We were there the first week of Oct. last year, and will be again this year, and we didn't have any problems. We got there about 30 min. prior to start time and it was about 2/3 full. I am not planning to do the dinner thing this year either and take my chances. I might see how crowded the parks are and judge by that how early to go this time...We plan to do Fantasmic more than once this year...one of our favorites!
