Fantasmic Hungry Bear vs Riverbelle Standard package

I am really hoping to get a Blue Bayou Fantasmic package but that seems like it might be difficult. I am going in November when Fantasmic will probably only run weekends so I have just one chance to go. I need a backup plan. Do I need to get a lunch reservation for Riverbelle to be sure a Fantasmic package is available when I request it or are they still available at 5:00 or 5:30 reservations? Experiences? Does anyone prefer one viewing area over the other? Is one more crowded than the other? Is there something else I should consider when making a choice? Where do you line up for each package to be let into the viewing areas? I really appreciate any information and recommendations you can give me.

Hungry Bear tends to be more crowded than River Belle due to the price difference.

But even if the prices were the same, I'd still prefer the Hungry Bear area because you're closer to Mickey. But, a lot of the boats start on the River Belle side so if it's your first time seeing the show, you may find that side tad more impressive for those parts. I've done Hungry Bear quite a few times.

Last time I was in the parks, the Hungry Bear line was in front of Harbor Galley while they were letting people into the River Belle Terrace area from the ropes a bit in front of Pirates. The line for Hungry Bear is more clearly defined which can actually be a disadvantage because other people will line up early.

The other thing you should consider of course is if you like the food at either restaurant. :earboy2:

I feel like the sections change a little sometimes. I've done River Belle twice recently and for one our section was slightly off to the right (when facing the stage) and for one we were dead center, right in front of Mickey. But even when the section was slightly off to the right, we sat to the far left of that section and so were practically centered.

I would choose based on the food/price rather than the section. And if choosing River Belle I would do a lunch reservation if you want the first show.

I agree wholeheartedly above. I would choose based on price and food selection.

We have done RBT twice in the last few months. First time we were to the left of center and last time we were to the right of center. Either section was fine. I think BB always gets center.

How was the food at RBT? Do you recommend a certain menu item?

Bumping!

Still hoping to snag a blue bayou package but right now I'm holding on to a Riverbelle lunch reservation and a hungry bear first show reservation. If I can't get BB I will use one. I'm actually not super in love with the food at either place on the Fantasmic menu..

Does anyone know if at Riverbelle you can substitute from the regular menus?

I've heard mixed reviews about the RBT menu/food. How was the food for you guys?
