Fantasmic! Help!!!

Help! I am a veteran WDW and DCL girl,but have NEVER (gasp!) seen Fantasmic! I am taking my new DH and DS7 in June to DL and really want to take them to see Fantasmic! but simply cannot afford the $60 ppsn to get into the dessert viewing area. Please please please can anyone make a suggestion of where to go (that I do not ahve to stake out 4 hours in advance?) or is it futile? We will be there only 2 days in June... Thanks and lots of Pixie dust...

Hi Queen - just to be sure you know, Fantasmic is down at DL until June 15, so I hope you are going after that or it is a mute point.

After about June 15 DLR will be transitioning to summer hour schedule. That means two Fantasmic shows each night (9PM and 10:30PM). If possible see Fantasmic on a week night. And see the second showing. Make sure your DS7 gets a nap and he should be good until 11PM. My kids were good at that age until those hours.

If you go to the second showing you can still decent spots 30 minutes ahead of time. You may want to try for 45 minutes though.

Good locations for Fantasmic are a matter of debate. We like to get down near the water. In this area you will be sitting on concrete - which is what we usually do. Some people bring blankets. Try to get as near center as possible.

Follow Hydros suggestions, you'll be fine. Seating for F! is really a luxury, not a requirement. We watch the show at least once on each trip, sometimes more. We never pay for seating (we did once, in 1995) and always manage to get seats. We typically go to the 2nd show. That way we can watch the fireworks and F! on the same night and not have to wait for F! seats for hours.
