Is there still such a thing? And will I need it for the first week of May? We only have one day at HS so what is the general consensus?:confused3None of the restaurants thrill me but we will probably try Mama Melrose. Any other suggestions?

I haven't done the Fantasmic pkg in several years, but with them limiting the showing of Fantasmic to just a couple of times a week, word is the crowds for it have been terrible. People without the pkg are getting in line like 90 minutes before the show and then some are still not getting in. It's been standing room only most nights. Reading all the problems people have been having getting in, I have made my Fantasmic ADR for Mama Melrose for May 10th. That was the first ADR I asked for when I called at 0600 CT at exactly 90 days out. If you check the thread here on the DIS about May ADRs cancellations, you will see people on there begging for Fantasmic ADRs. I think the chances of you getting one at this late date would be very slim.

The Fantasmic pkg includes appetizer (even on the basic DDP), entree, drink, and dessert, plus you get the voucher that assures you are not having to stand in line for over 90 minutes, and get guaranteed seats over on the right hand side (as you enter) the theater. You still have to get there fairly early though, as those seats are opened up to the everyone abut 30 minutes before the show. Again, I haven't done the Fantasmic pkg in years and have never had trouble finding a seat, but with Disney cutting the show back to only twice a week, it's going to be packed, and since I love Fantasmic I made the ADR for this trip.

I called three weeks out and had no trouble getting my reservation at Mama Melrose's with the package!

I didn't realize that you had to make reservations. I've never had the dining plan on previous visits and was young anyway (I wanted fast food).

My reservation is at 4:35pm. How early should I plan on getting to the show? I saw that somebody posted something about them opening the reserved section to others at 30 minutes out so I'm guessing I need to be there at least 30 minutes before the show. That is just crazy to me. I have a 2 year old and do not even want to think about the way he'll act sitting there for 30 minutes while we wait.
