Hi, Can someone tell me exactly what is the Fantasmic Dinner package? I've read a few threads where people are mentioning this. I realize that Fantasmic is a show, but what is the dinner package?

Thanks for your help.

Kristin

The Fantasmic Package is a package where you can dine at one of three places for a set price (includes appetizer, entree and dessert, I believe). There are certain seatingi times and it is limited (I don't believe there is anything after 5:30 p.m.). The restaurants are Mama Melrose, Hollywood & Vine (buffet) and Brown Derby (two table service credits if on the dining plan). You are given a ticket to enter the Fantasmic show through a different entrance and there are reserved seats for those ticket holders on one side of the arena. Therefore, you don't need to line up and try to get a seat with the general masses.

Thanks for explaining that! Is the show really good? Should I try to do this dinner package? Is it really hard to get into the show without the dinner package deal? We are going the middle of May if that matters.

Thanks

It is hard to say. First, we have never gone in May. We went this past September and did not do the package deal and went to the 10:00 show and sat dead center. One other time we did not do the package deal and we had trouble squeezing me, DH and the two boys into one area...but then we refused to line up 60 minutes or more before the show for a seat and showed up with about 15 minutes to spare.

We think it is a great show...one of our favorites...and we never miss it. It will be the first show we do when we go this September with our best friends...they've never been and this is their introduction to all things Disney!

Fantasmic is a DO NOT MISS for our family. We have never done the package and have never felt we needed to. There are really no bad seats for this show. Last year we showed up about 15 minutes before the show started and practically had the whole side section to ourselves.

However, we have never gone in May. Hopefully someone with May experience will jump in here.

if you are on the ddp, you should try to get a fantasmic dining package. we walked up, saw so many people get turned away because the theater was packed, and we walked right in took our seats and watched a great show. what i didn't understand, they have a section that is saved just for those with the dining package. there were about 20 people sitting in the section, and it could probably hold about 400 or so. all the other seats remained empty. i would have thought they would have opened it up once the show started so those who were standing in the back could sit down. we are dining at hollywood and vine before going to fantasmic this time, also on the ddp for this visit

We are doing the dinner package this June because last June the line to enter the theatre was unbearably long. It was the only time during our trip that I had a real anxiety attack over the mobs. I didn't really enjoy the show, because I was trying to plan our exit route so as not to be in that mob of people again! I'm hoping the separate entrance will be less pushing and shoving. Once inside, the seating is massive, but the line to get in is something I can't deal with again. (of course, this was in the heat and crowds of June)

Thanks for the replies. I think I will look into this and see if anything is available.
