Fantasmic Dining Package for January

We have never done the Fantasmic Dinner Package (or even seen Fantasmic for that matter) and were considering trying it for our upcoming trip during the second week of January. What sort of experience has everyone had with it? And what restaurant would you recommend choosing?

The Fantasmic package is really nice because it guarantees you a seat for the first show which is usually busier than the later show. Last year we went on January 4 to the second show and there was plenty of good seating left. If you are good with the second show, you probably don't need the package but if you want the first show, you should really get it for peace of mind that your seat is reserved. Fantasmic is a great show!

You didn't say whether you had kids or not but either way, the Brown Derby is one of my top 3 favorites on property for the awesome cobb salad and filet with mashed potatoes. It is 2 credits but worth it I think. I went there as a kid and enjoyed it then too.

We think the F dining package is a good thing for us. We know we'll be doing a TS meal anyway, and we can get a center section seat for the first show without a wait and without using a FP. You don't say whether or not you are on the DDP, but if you are, its a good value because the appetizer is included in the package. We like HBD. Being a signature, it is the most expensive, but the food, service and ambiance are very good. For something less expensive, we've liked Mama Melrose. We've also tried H&V (twice) and I don't recommend it. IMO its the worst buffet on property (even worse than Chef Mickeys dinner).
