I'm moving my question from trip reports over here, because I didn't get a reply. The following thread asks about someone who said you could get advance reservations to the Fantasmic dessert buffet:

If you know anything, I sure would appreciate the info. Thank you.

you can get tickets to sit on the balcony in the Disney Gallery above the pirates of the Carr.
to watch Fantasmic and they serve desserts.
The tickets were $35 per person the last time I tried to get them.
You need to get them at guest services outside by the ticket gates or at city hall.
this may be different now, so ask Disney.
I have read about people going at 6am to tickets to this.
the one time we tried they were only available for the late showing and we were just too tired to wait it out.

I've never heard of advanced reservations on the Fantasmic dessert buffet. If there was such a thing, I'm sure word would spread like wildfire on the internet... It's probably a special situation, and not normally offered.

Time to set your alarm clock early!

Ditto on the wait thing.

And I think they were about $40 a few weeks ago -- my dad got the actual tickets, but I'm pretty sure it was close to $40/person.

Make sure you do show up to the buffet 30 minutes before the show if you want the desserts and time to eat them :D

It's a great experience which I think all Fantasmic fans should do at least once :D

We were just there last weekend and got in line a little before 6am...there were already several people in line before us! We were the last people to get tickets. The first fellow in line had been there since 4:30am...now that is dedication! The tix were $42.00.

Luckily it was early entry morning, so we went straight from the guest services booth directly into the park (stayed at Paradise Pier).

The buffet was fantastic and worth every penny. The dessert offerings and coffee/tea/etc. were scrumptious, and the service provided by CM's Tiffany and Brennan was of top quality, what you find in five star restaurants that are worth their ratings.

Plus we could stay after Fantasmic and also watch the fireworks.

We loved it. It is worth the wait and cost.

Steven

Is the $42, for adults AND children? What type of desserts do they have? Anything that younger kids would like?

I'm not familiar with the location...where is the restaurant and how are the table set up to see the show; from what angle?

THANKS!

We were there two weeks ago. I think the tickets were $41 apiece. There is no discount for children. We went on a Sunday morning when there is no early entry, so I didn't have to get up too early. As long as you are there two hours before opening time (early entry time if it is an EE day), you will probably get tickets. I arrived later than planned, maybe an hour before, and still got tix. Yeah!! But, don't count on it, it was a really low attendance day. If you can, do it. There is nothing like seeing Fantasmic from the balcony. It is directly across from the area where fantasmic is launched on the river/Tom Sawyers Island...maybe someone else can describe its location better...but because it is on the second floor and far above the crowd, you have THE BEST possible seats...and you don't have to stake them out for hours in advance. When we were there the chairs we sat in were in two rows facing the river, with the buffet table behind us. The food was fantastic, but if you have a picky toddler they may not like it, I don't know, my four year old was asleep until the show started. There are several desserts to choose from. I would still pay and go if all they served was water!! The hot chocolate/coffee was nice I guess because it was kind of cold that night. Needless to say, I will do this EVERYTIME I am at DL in the future! We were concierge level at DLH, but did not hear about advance reservations for fantasmic. I agree, it is unlikely.

but so much more than dessert!! As I said, I would pay that even if they served water, or nothing! You are paying for the privilege of sitting in the best seats in the house, not for eating any silly desserts!! I assume you are being sarcastic? I think they are basically throwing in the dessert buffet as an extra treat. Most people are perfectly happy staking out a place on the ground for free, and eating churros...I felt it was worth it to pay to avoid the hassle and time wasted just sitting. If it was reasonably priced we would probably have to stand in line all night to get tix! and the crazy thing is..I would probably still do it!!! :D

I have done the Fantasmic! buffet twice. Both times were several years ago when the tickets were only available at the Gallery after Park opening.

There are two rows of seats for a total of 15 seats. They are on one of the Gallery balconies with an unobstructed view of the island. The buffet, with the desserts from Club 33, is set up behind the chairs.

The first time I was by myself, having been on a business trip that ended when I could not get a flight back home to arrive at a reasonable hour. I arrived at the Park at 2:00 PM!. It seens that all the people who had wanted seats were either couples or groups of four, so there was one seat left for the first show. I was able to get it.

The other time was during a NFFC Convention. It was an Early Entry day. While I wwent to the Indiana Jones ride Judy went to the Gallery to wait for it to open, so she was first in line and we were able to get the tickets. (We were meeting relatives and got a block of seven tickets.

Well, if I look at it that way, $41 for not dessert but front row seats to an awesome show, it's defintely worth it! We've seen the show a couple of times (from the concrete), and with kids, it is always a challenge to get a seat early and to STAY there, patiently. It would be great to actually see the whole show, comfortably and considering this trip is for my 3-year old's birthday, it would be even better for her! I'll defintely have to talk my DH into paying the price (we will have a party of 8)!!

Please clarify the location to purchase the tickets. I first understood to stand in line at 6am, then that would mean at the front gate? or at the Gallery after the opening of the park?

THANK YOU

The only people who can get advance seating for this are Disney execs. We found this out the hard way. We were waiting in line early am and wanted front row seats for the first showing. We were first in line and were told the seats had been sold. Excuse me? Disney executives can get the seats ahead of time but have to sit in the backrow so we were told we would be sitting in the front row anyway. When we showed up we were moved to the side because of special guests. After questioning we were told it was the disney executives who were suppose to be in the second row. We went to City Hall to clarify this and were told they had given 8 tickets to someone for guest recovery. Must have been something major that happened. Just bring a towel to seat on and something to read and stake out your spot in front of guest relations outside the park. I used the time to sort my pins. this is well worth at least once.
