Fantasmic crowd question

We usually do the dining package because DH hates waiting in the herd of people going in. He has no patience. We will be in HS on Monday, February 15 - President's Day. I booked the F! dining package because I know the park will be very crowded that day. I am thinking about cancelling it and doing the Star Wars dessert package because I think my kids would love it. I thought we would try to catch the second F! after the fireworks. Is that a bad idea because of the crowds that day? I don't want to hear DH complain if it is crazy crowded for F! Will the second showing be easy to get into even though it is Presidents Day? Any tips would be appreciated.

Second show will definitely be less crowded. However even with the dining package for any F! show I would still strongly recommend showing up 30 minutes-one hour prior to start time

Thanks. We always do the package and get there about 30 minutes before. This eliminates waiting in the herd of people. We haven't gone to the second show in years. I am just worried if we don't do the package that because it is a crowded weekend the second show will be crazy crowded.

The remedy for crowds is still showing up early.

The second show of anything at Disney is much less crowded. Fantasmic, MK fireworks, Electric Parade, etc. I agree with others about getting there early also helps!

We were there over 4th of July. What we did was snag a FP for the second Fantasmic! before going to the Frozen fireworks. We headed to F! after the fireworks and they had not opened up the theater yet. We waited in a bit of a crowd until the gates opened. The theater was pretty empty even for the busy time period. Not sure how the timing works for the SW fireworks but we could have taken a bit more time heading to F! To avoid waiting in that crowd but it was fine for us (maybe something to avoid for you guys?) and since I didn't know how crowded it would be I didn't want to wait too long. I would say it was not even half full. Again not sure about your particular schedule and timing but sharing our experience.

We always buck the system and have been very lucky.....we have never done a package and have never shown up more than 30 minutes before show time. We have never gotten a seat. We have traveled during many different times of the year and have had luck with different weeks in October, Thanksgiving week, the week after Thanksgiving, the first week of December, the second week of January and spring break.

If you like Toy Story Mania, you can often ride it multiple times while the early Fantasmic is underway. It's not unusual to be able to ride about 4 times during that final hour of operation while the majority of guests are in the ampitheater.

We visit during the summer months and always hit the late show. We try to arrive about 10 minutes before showtime and have never failed to get really good seats. It's been years since we've seen the theater more than half full for the 2nd performance.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the advice. I will talk it over with DH and try to decide what to do.
