Fantasmic at HS for a Disneyland person...is it a must do?

I've probably seen Fantasmic at Disneyland over 100 times. I've been to WDW three times and did not put it on my to do list simply because I wanted to do things at WDW that don't exist at DL. I'm planning my 4th trip to the World and I am starting to wonder if I should make time to see it. For those of you who have seen the show on both coasts, is it worth it to see it at HS?

Yes definitely better experience there at DL, but this will give you a whole different perspective, and everywhere will be a good view too.

I've been to both and would totally skip the HS version. You'll be disappointed. It's like watching Fantasmic in the Shamu stadium. Go spend your time somewhere else.

The HS version is so far inferior that you may find it laughable.

Quite frankly, after seeing the spectacle that is World of Color at DCA, I've been disappointed with every closing show at WDW. The only thing that still kind of impresses me is Illuminations at EPCOT. Nothing compares to World of Color.

I agree with the others, generally speaking. I got to see the DL version of Fantasmic! in February, and I loved it. Much better than the DHS show, as others have noted.

Having said that, if you are a fan of nighttime spectaculars, and if it fits into your touring schedule pretty well, I'd still do it. Don't rely on what others say.

My personal order of favorites for nighttime shows:

1. World of Color
2. Illuminations
3. Wishes - with Celebrate the Magic
4. Fantasmic! at DL
5. Fantasmic! at DHS

I have not had the chance to see fireworks at DL, but after watching the YouTube videos of Disneyland Forever, I'm positive it would rank high!

OK I will dissent a little and say that the DL version is not that much better than the WDW version. I have seen it many times at both parks and even though I agree that DL is better I still go to the one at WDW. Sure its not integrated right in the middle of the park but at least lots more people can get a seat instead of fighting for the limited space at DL. The flow of the show is similar and the parts unique to WDW are still OK compared to the unique elements at DL.

The DL version is so much better. The only advantage WDW has over DL is the arena seating. Pocahontas just cannot compare to Peter Pan.

I am a huge Disney world lover. Took my adult kids to Disneyland last summer and we were completely blown away by fantastic. I couldn't understand how it could be better than wow, with no seating, etc. while wow is a good show, I think you may walk away disappointed. Disneyland fantastic is incredible incredible incredible.

I've never felt the need to see it at DHS.

Any fireworks show I've seen at Disneyland blows Wishes (the only fireworks show I know of at WDW) away. We don't bother with fireworks at MK anymore. Even if you don't end up feeling like that, SEE fireworks at DL please. :)

I've seen F! at DL at least 60 times. I've seen it 6 or 7 times at WDW. It's just not that good at DHS. Illuminations, Wishes and MSEP are a much better use of your time. But if you're at DHS during Fantasmic, just spend your time on rides instead.

During busy seasons, Fantasmic is performed twice each evening with the 2nd show starting 30 minutes after the park closes. This one usually isn't very crowded and doesn't take away from valuable park time.

So I'm curious - I've never been to DL and I just finally saw Fantasmic at WDW once. I enjoyed F! at DHS, but could see it's certainly possible to make an even better show, but I'm wondering *what* is different about DLs show?

Is it the same elements (Mickey, mechanical dragon, water screen projection, other characters come out on boats) with each element somehow better? (Betterm how?) or does it have different elements entirely?

You may want to see it because it's different, but you may be disappointed since WDW's is an inferior show.

I actually prefer the one at DHS. Go figure. I will say that the Peter Pan scene is better than Pocohontas, so Disneyland certainly as that, but I liked that I had a great view of the whole show which wasn't the case at Disneyland. I also liked being able to sit and enjoy the show. I consider both Disneyland and WDW Fantasmic shows to be a can't miss.

We love just about everything in WDW, the exception being Fantasmic. No one in our group of 6 that saw it felt the need to ever see it again. The pushing/shoving/elbowing mess to leave the show just added to that.

Same elements.. Mickey and water screen projections and character and barges BUT there is no stadium it's all done on the rivers of america and IT IS AMAZING... They use the pirate ship for the Peter Pan bit (which wdw does not have) their dragon blows our dragon out the water its not just a head and puppet arms that flair out...so you are closer to the action...
