We would like to see Fantasmic! and the Together Forever show on the same night.
Fantasmic! is at at 9:00pm and 10:30pm.
Together Forever is at 9:30pm.

What is the best way to accomplish both?
Thanks

Watch the 9 PM Fantasmic show and then stay standing in that area to view the fireworks. You miss out on the Main Street projections this way but will see the fireworks and the projections that they put up on the Fantasmic water screens. To me this is the least difficult way to accomplish both shows on the same night.

If you are determined to watch the fireworks from Main Street, then you need to choose the second Fantasmic viewing. You will also have quite a challenge walking against the traffic of all the guests exiting after the fireworks. You will not arrive at the Fantasmic viewing area very much before the show and will therefore not necessarily be able to have the best view depending on how many other people are in the viewing area ahead of you.

Whichever time you choose for Fantasmic, you will want a Fantasmic fastpass. You are likely to have a better view if you have one of the dining package fastpasses.

OK, so I was just there on Friday night, watched the fireworks on Main St. and then wanted to head over to see F!. The crowds to get over to NOS were INSANE! You will be swimming against the masses of people leaving the park after fireworks and the CMs direct one way traffic in certain directions. You cannot enter Adventureland at all, so you have to funnel through the crowds into Frontierland then over to NOS. It took about 15min to get over there and that was by myself weaving in and out of people.

That said, I highly recommend watching fireworks from Main St. I have seen the Together Forever show from ROA after F! and now on Main St. and I can say that Main St. is 100% better! The mist screens on the river are a nice idea but nowhere near as great as the Main St. projections. I couldn't really see the castle very well but i could still see the fireworks and the projections on the buildings were great. There is also a little surprise that happens on top of the buildings during the Coco sequence, it's very good.

If you want to still see F! after fireworks, I think it's doable, but you will want a dining package. I didn't have a FP or a package because I've seen F! many times and could watch most of it from near the bridge. A dining package will at least save you a spot and give you some piece of mind. If you can get a place closer to the castle or hub to watch the fireworks, that would allow a quicker escape into Frontierland. Be prepared for the crowds and just keep swimming!

I agree with longtimedisneylurker that the easiest option is to watch the first showing a F! and then view the fireworks from that area (just make sure you are in a position to see the mist screen and the fireworks at the same time, so try to make sure that the mist screens are between you and Big Thunder). You'll miss out on the Main Street projections (which differ from the ones on the castle and the mist screens), the flying characters (you can see them, but not how they're framed in the show), the special effect on Main Street, and some of the on-the-castle effects. You'll still get a sense of the show, but I do think you'll miss out on a lot of the "immersive" elements/feel to the show by watching it from the Rivers of America area. Personally, I would watch the fireworks from this area as a second choice, after you've already seen it from Main Street.

I would consider looking into doing one of the dining packages for the second F! showing and then watching fireworks from Main Street. After fireworks ends, head over to the F! viewing area. It'll be slow going but if you have a dining package FP, you will probably still end up with a good view when you get over to the viewing area. That being said, you will probably be towards the back of the reserved viewing area for the dining packages, but given that it's usually ground seating, the view is typically pretty good from anywhere in the section (just try to avoid sitting behind someone markedly taller than you).

I have done all 3 shows at once before.

PTN: 9:50, we waited in front of ariels ride's entrance. right when it passes, we took off through the countryside and out towards the gates. PTN was halfway down at the front of the park.
Fireworks: 9:30 We arrived in Disneyland with 5 mins to spare. We sat around the front hub and got a great view of the castle and of main street.
Fantasmic: we got tickets at for Mark Twain area. we waited in line there. we got some decent seats as far center as we can but still at an angle. was still able to see everything.

its possible... hope that helps.

So - our experience is limited to this visit only.
We saw the 9PM F! last Wednesday and last night (Monday).
In both cases, we left the FP viewing area the very second we deemed the finale was over and the fireworks were just starting as we hit Main Street. On both nights there was still plenty of room on the street to watch the fireworks. If you left a moment or two before the finale was over, there would have been ever more options.

As a matter of fact, DH and our six kids left the F! viewing area the second the finale ended and I spun in circles looking for my mother for 2-4 minutes, getting almost engulfed by the crowd. She and I were in the herd moving toward main street. DH and kids had made it all the way up to the main entrance when he answer the phone as she and I were just into main street.

It’s definitely doable! Sunday night of Memorial Day weekend (Deluxe APs blocked) we started at DCA to watch PtN at 8:50. It ended, and we booked it over to DL with plenty of time to grab a spot for the fireworks on Mainstreet (loved this experience - especially witnessing the crowds’ reaction to Coco:lovestruc).

We had fastpasses for Space Mountain immediately after the fireworks. When we finished over there the hub had cleared considerably, so getting over to/through Frontierland was fine. We noticed the 10:30 F! was getting ready to start and could have found a spot, but the kids decided to do more rides!

Good luck and enjoy!

Interesting. Where were you located in the FP viewing area?

Thanks, all for the replies.

We are a party of 9 and have a Fantasmic! dining package reserved, currently for the 9pm showing.
I wonder if I called and asked to switch it to the 10:30 showing, if that would give us a better chance to view the fireworks from Main Street, then make our way over to ROA.
Thoughts?

You shouldn't need to call unless you actually want to change your dining time. Just ask your server for FPs to the second show when you dine. Usually servers ask which show you want to see. And if they don't ask, you can request FPs for either show.
