My dad and I are taking a short trip to Disney in late February for an Atlanta Braves spring training game, and we are going to have one day at a park. Since we haven't been to Toy Story Land, we are planning to go to Hollywood Studios.

I noticed that Fantasmic is scheduled for 8:00, and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular is scheduled for 8:30. Is it possible to see both shows on the same night? If we could only see one, which would you recommend? We have seen Fantasmic a few times in the past, the last time probably around 4 years ago. We really enjoy Fantasmic, but haven't seen the Star Wars show yet.

Also, what time do we need to arrive for Fantasmic and/or the Star Wars show? Our last FP is for Slinky Dog Dash at 6:25 pm.

Thanks in advance!

It is impossible to see ALL of both. If you sit at the very top of the theater for F! and get up to go about 8:20-25, hustle back to the Chinese theater courtyard, you'll probably be in time to see SWS in its entirety, but you'll miss the end of F!. If you wait until F! is over, you'll miss the first 5 min or so of SWS.

Personally, I'd do the SWS just because you haven't seen it and F! hasn't changed over the years. SWS is pretty good, and if you're a Star Wars fan at all, you'll enjoy it. Be in the courtyard around 8:00-8:15, but stay on the left side, facing the theater. The fireworks are shot off to the right, so if you're on the right, the trees on that side can be in the way.

You won't be able to see both on the same night unless they add a 2nd Fantasmic showing.

In 2017, we opted to watch the Star Wars show and loved it. We arrived about half an hour early to stake out a good spot and sat around until the show started. This last trip, we opted to watch Fantasmic (we ended up getting a FP+ for it) and arrived about 10-15 minutes or so before the show started (again we had a FP so we knew we had seats). We would've worked our towards the line about 45 minutes before the show started if we didn't have a FP+.

Yes, you can see both on the same night. If you want to catch all of Star Wars you will need to start to exit the theater of F! when the finale begins. Not a big deal, you can still see it as you're walking out. We've done it several times. As soon as the boat starts crossing the lake in F!, we start heading out. We stand at the back of the pavilion to see the final fireworks and then boogie out to head to Star Wars. We miss maybe the first 90 seconds of it.

For F!, I'd suggest a FP+, which is easy to get even last minute. If you do standby, at least 30-45 minutes early for a decent seat. Star Wars you can walk up literally last second and find a good spot.

I will tell you my experiece from our April trip. We did Fantasmic and did not plan on doing Star wars, but when we got out of Fantasmic we were just strolling out and happened to find that we were able to stop and watch star wars. I think we got there only a couple minutes prior to it starting but didn't have any problems finding space for our party of 7.

As for whether or not to see fantasmic - you could do a couple things. 1. book a fantasmic dining package so that you don't have to waste time lining up early and you have to eat anyways. I would pick Brown Derby or Mama Melrose. 2. Skip fantasmic because when a big show is going on then wait time for ride tend to be a little shorter, so with that you could tackle a few rides during that time.

If you are going to do fantasmic without the dining package it is usually recommended that you get in line 30-45 minutes before the show. If it isn't a crowded/busy day then you could show up later but might not get the best seats. We have only don't the dining package and love the middle section a bit higher up to get a great overall view of the show. Too close to the water you can tend to get water spray and the view just isn't as good.
