Day 9

Alone at last and it did feel a little weird but now we could just concentrate on us and we didn’t have to think about anyone else so that was good!

Today we had reservations for Sweet Sundays, a special event held at the Festival Center as part of the Food and Wine Festival. We entered Epcot early and went and rode Test Track first before heading to the Wonders pavilion for the event.

The Festival Center

Sweet Sundays consisted of a breakfast buffet first which was very enjoyable – great food, eggs, bcon, potatoes, beautiful fresh berries. Really good. We also had juice and coffee and sparkling wine.

Martini yogurt parfaits

Cheers

Love these glasses

Then we sat through 3 demonstrations from our chef Warren Brown of Cake Love, http://www.cakelove.com/ , making desserts that we were then served… 3 of them!!

Cherry Bomb Cake – this was like a super moist heavy pound cake with an amazing but not overpowering hint of cherry

Chocolate Chip Cake with Pecan Buttercream

Warren Brown of Cake Love was great and the food was also good – we found it interesting especially as he made such a big deal about weighing ingredients instead of measuring them with cups…. We found this entertaining given that obviously in the UK that’s how we cook!

Warren and his colleague

We sat with a lovely couple whose son had recently got married at The Yacht Club LOL I attract the Disney Brides! The whole experience was really good fun and having it sponsored by Martini that early on a Sunday meant I was a little squiffy by the time the event finished because there were a lot of bubbles!

We then went and had a look around the Festival Center as it was the last day of the festival and there were deals to be had. I picked up a cute Duffy in his chefs gear and we also for the festival recipe book half price.

Loved the booze shop

We then made our way through the very busy last day crowds back out of International Gateway but not before I stopped off at Desserts and Champagne to get me a glass of Pink Fizz! Well I was already in a bubbly mood and I wasn’t going to be driving today ;)

No sooner were we back in our room when the phone went and it was my GF Stacy – she wanted to stop by our room and say a proper goodbye plus she had a lot of snack credits left and wanted to see if we could use them for things from the MarketPlace never one to turn down free food I met up with her and stocked up on essential items like cheesecake!

Finally it was time for Cinderfella and I to get ready for his first ever MVMCP – I was very excited…. We both chose to wear red!

Rather than drive we took the bus over and then made our way to Tomorrowland stopping for the odd Main Street photo.

My Favourite!

We got FP’s for Buzz which weren’t long at all so we rode TTA whilst we waited, then rode Buzz twice once FP and once in the Standby lane.

Dusk from the TTA

I wanted to see the lighting of the castle which was amazing – although one turret wasn’t alight which was a bit of a shame and I really should photoshop it ;)

Before

After

They soon realised and turned the opposite turret off to get it to match

After a quick ride on Haunted Mansion I made Cinderfella come with me to Country Bears I was disappointed though because I was sure it was going to be the Holiday version, which I love, but sadly it was just the original version, does anyone know when they start to show the Holiday version?

We had dinner reservations booked at Liberty Tree Tavern and we really enjoyed that. We ordered seconds on the meat and the mashed potato yummy.

After dessert we rolled ourselves out of there in time to watch the special holiday version of the Magical Memories and You… unbelievable…. I cried.. because it was too awesome beyond belief.

Then it was time for Holiday Wishes

After the castle show we went and got cookies and hot chocolate, which are just bleh. We then bumped into one of my bosses from one of my jobs, we’d been texting each other most of the night but we were just never in the same place at the same time so this was a lovely surprise and we had a quick chin wag before heading in to see what we hoped would not be a big line for Mickey and Minnie. Thankfully it wasn’t and we only had to wait less than 10 minutes.

Kisses!

When we came away we were then in a prime position to watch the parade so I took my seat and waited. It too brought me a lot of joy.

Finally we decided we were both tired and thought we should leave before the crowds, given that this was probably the most attractions we had done in one park visit so far …. Phew need a lie down after that… we’re not used to all that park time!

What a lovely, lovely day :goodvibes

We are visiting right at the beginning of November next year so i am hoping we can get the tail end of food and wine and one of the first MVMCP :yay:

Love the look of the Sweet Sunday's demo :thumbsup2
