Day 3
After our, OK… MY late night we were a little slow getting going this morning so it was breakfast in the Concierge Lounge… let me tell you this places gets busy with few tables and given that it was Jersey Week and it seemed the whole of Jersey were staying at The Beach Club it was madness well for perhaps 10 minutes until I scored a table. I was very much getting into the whole oatmeal for breakfast with brown sugar and cinnamon with lovely bagels and pasties and amazing fresh fruit. I know that staying concierge is expensive and certainly the amount we would be spending on breakfast doesn’t make up for the difference in price for a normal room to a concierge room but I was happy to pay for the convenience of it and it was for only .. what 6 nights… LOL nothing like a bit of false economy!
Anyway I had a little surprise in store for Cinderfella today.

We were going to be doing the Food and Wine Festival and this was his first time of experiencing it but not only that we were doing it with some friends that Cinderfella had no idea were in Orlando… how I had managed to keep that a secret I have no idea. We meandered along to Epcot – Cinderfella stopped to work out exactly what he wanted to achieve that day…unknown to him there was already a plan in place

We had this little shot taken at the UK

Then made our way to look at the cranberry exhibit

and went for a little walk around Future World before I told Cinderfella that it was time for his surprise. We headed to World Showcase and had another picture taken

Before heading to a bench and sure enough our pals Penny and Simon were there and ready to take Cinderfella and I around World Showcase.
Today does actually go down as one of our BEST DISNEY DAYS EVER! Don’t get me wrong every day we have in Disney is wonderful be it on our own or with pals but sometimes you just get that day that leaves you with the memory that you always think back to THAT day… oh I wish we could be having THAT day again … anyway I am rambling. Needless to say as this was Cinderfella’s first experience of the Food and Wine Festival, we went for it, between the four of us we managed to eat and drink from nearly every booth! I won’t lie we were tired after the first time round but honest to god we knew that if we really wanted to make a dent in all that we wanted to try then there was nothing for it we were going to have go around again … and around again we did albeit at a much slower pace!!!
I just want to share with you some of our food and drink highlights:
GREECE
Griddled Greek Cheese with Pistachios and Honey

This was really really good – great combination, the cheese was probably Halloumi but they didn’t actually state that
FRANCE
Parisian Cosmo Slush

Yup it was really good! They need to get this drink permanently at the French Pavilion

BELGIUM
Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whip cream

The waffle was really light in texture and this dessert was pretty moreish
JAPAN
Spicy Tuna Roll

California Sushi Roll

Out of the two I preferred the California Sushi Roll the Spicy Tuna didn’t have a lot of taste
SOUTH KOREA
Boolgogi BBQ Beef with Steamed Rice and Kimchi

This dish I could have eaten a huge plateful of and I did actually wash it down with some amazing South Korean Raspberry Wine
NEW ZEALAND
Seared Sea Scallop with Kumara-Red Curry Puree

Tasty, good texture, fresh scallops
Lamb Slider with Tomato Chutney

This was pretty scrummy as sliders go! The lamb was good.
HOPS & BARLEY
Pumpkin Mousse with Craisins and Orange Sauce

If it has pumpkin in it I want it! Thankfully this little tiny delight hit the sweet spot without too much all spice!
Cinderfella chilling out around World Showcase

GERMANY
Apple Strudel with Karamel and Vanilla Sauce

Ohhhh good pastry, the apple wasn’t too sweet but that sauce was sublime
CHEESE
Artisan Cheese Selection

CHINA
Black Pepper Shrimp with Sichuan Noodles

Happy Lychee cocktail! Vodka, Lychee juice and soda.

MEXICO
Grilled Ribeye Taco

The chipotle in this gave it a real kick – thankfully the margarita helped cool me down afterwards
Strawberry Lime Margarita on the Rocks

CARIBBEAN
Frozen Rock Coconut Mojito and Frozen Dragon Berry Colada
It was a hard choice!

AUSTRALIA
Grilled Lamb Chop with Potato-Goat Cheese Salad & Shiraz Reduction

I loved the salad but the chop was a little chewy
Cont'd....
