DAY 2

Well I woke up way too early because the clocks had gone back and this was messing with my jetlag BIG time! What with our clocks going back the week before then the time difference and now the US clocks going back… urgh! However the good news about getting up early was I was able to just lull about play on my iPad play on Facebook answer some emails and before I knew it, it was time to get our butts down to the lobby to meet Carol and Chuck and drive over to The Polynesian. This morning we were having breakkie at ‘Ohanas.

Silly Men!

Once at The Poly we met up with our friends Barb and Stacy, it was lovely to see them and of course lots of hugs and chitty chatty followed but I’m a woman and I can multi-task so I was able to also check us in, get our leis and have our official picture taken.

Chuck has pineapple allergies so it’s not a great restaurant for him and he hates it when we draw attention to his allergies but I was strict with him (yes I know he’s not MY husband) and told him we were getting the Chef out because better to be safe than sorry and honestly sticking an Epi-pen in him wouldn’t have been the best start to a WDW holiday. Anyway Chuck had a lovely little chat with the Chef and he didn’t make much fuss.

‘Ohanas is a fun character breakfast location. The food is served family style with a platter of breads and pastries and fresh fruit served to us first. Great coffee and lovely juice... thinking about it now is making me want to go back sooo bad! The character interaction I have found to always be good and today was not an exception. We had Mickey, Stitch, Pluto and Lilo... well I say we had Lilo.. this nearly didn’t happen she missed us, so I threw my little toys out of the pram in my lovely British accent, whiny way and Lilo arrived.

Our breakfast was very good, great fluffy eggs, sausage, bacon, good breakfast potatoes and light biscuits. All the food was piping hot and we got extras of anything we wanted when we wanted it.

I seriously cannot recommend this character breakfast enough and think it’s also great interaction for children as they organise little games and entertainment for them.

After breakkie Stacy headed off to meet The Divas whilst the rest of us hopped on the monorail and headed to MK.

We arranged to meet the rest of The Dreamers at the top of Main Street, the crowd level was low, the sun was shining, my belly was comfortably full, I was with my hubby and some of my BFFs and frankly I was feeling the LOVE, this was going to be a great day!

We had some great photos taken and then it was time to see the Main Street Entertainers do the trolley dances and numbers, very fun!

The Dreamers!

Pixie Power!

OMG there's Tink!

We then went and rode Haunted Mansion and experienced the new Queuing area – I really like the interaction but hate to think of all the touching and germs and stuff.... ewww I needed hand gel LOL

After the ride we ambled.... it was an ambling day just because there were 9 of us... over to Jungle Cruise to get fast passes then to ride Pirates with trepidation because we were with Barb and usually a Big Group + Barb + water = Ride breakdown however we were lucky although I’m not sure the people in the same boat as us thought so ahhhh well it could have been worse for them we could have been a big tour group from South America ;)!

After the obligatory Pirates photo

we went to the Tikki Room..... yay it’s back to how it was no annoying squaking birds, sorry I like it this way than the Under New Management way.

I really like the Tikki Room and again the park felt quiet, you can always tell if the park is busy because Tikki Room would be full ha-ha it was more than half empty!

Jungle Cruise next, we had a Cast Member called David and he was excellent. CM’s can really make or break this attraction as you need someone with great timing and new material, especially if you have a tough crowd like us on your boat... David survived... oops I mean we survived, it was fun.

Then we ambled back to Fantasyland we needed to get Snow White in some went and rode something else I don’t remember the rest of us went looking in shops and mooching then we made our way back to the hub.... oooh we got a great picture in the Gazebo usually for Princess Tatiana but she was off somewhere else but the photopass CM had some fun with us.

Back at The Hub and a party was going on, we shaked our booties down to the Move It, Shake It party! It was already then time for us to take the walk back down Main Street where we met with this very fascinating Lady.

Lots of jokes cracked about where we all came from, Tia is from Idahoe.... oh dear she read her crowd well and we were totally OK with some of the little, hush her mouth, un Disney-like banter ha-ha she was good not too much some great inuendos, we didn’t want to leave her but we wanted to head out so that we could get over to Grand Floridian for tea.

We went back to the Poly, got the car from Valet and then drove around to GF and the valet there – Carol and I had a change of clothes in the boot because that’s how we roll when in Disney, another meal another change of clothes opportunity and then we hung about the lobby waiting for the rest of the gang!

I started looking in the shops and found a lovely new D&B bag luckily Barb was with me with her Premium AP so 20% discounts to be had yayyyy… obviously not breaking any rules, she bought it for me as a gift, I just gave her the money for it ;)

We were split for Afternoon Tea which whilst not ideal we coped, Cinderfella and I had tea with Barb and Sandra and it was fun.

Our server was great. I chose the Grand Tea which comes with sandwiches and onion tart. Sandwich quarters are filled with :
egg salad on potato bread;
cucumber, watercress and butter on seeded whole grain;
Shrimp salad;
pear and gorgonzola on pumpernickel;
curried chicken salad on marbled rye;

Followed by scones and Devonshire cream with strawberry jam, lashings of Garden View Bouquet tea followed by exquisite pastries washed down with more tea.

You can tell how good a scone is if you can split it without a knife! Barb shows us how!

Fabulous time, lots of giggles!

All too soon it was time to get back to the car and head back to the hotel. I was full now but Cinderfella made me do a power walk around Crescent Lake, this was a good move! Then it was time to get ready for dinner.... yup a lot of food today, welcome to a Sammy and Cinderfella vacation.

Tonight we were having dinner at Flying Fish – again I had tried to get us one table but they had wanted us to eat at 5.30 for that perk... ummm no thanks that’s way too early. Instead we went for 7.30 ressys on the basis that our party would be split. We all decided to meet in the Belle Vue Lounge as the rest of the gang were staying at The Boardwalk LOL Cinderfella and I like to be different!

I was wearing a dress... which is unheard of but I thought what the heck and this had butterflies on and I love butterflies LOL

Bellevue Lounge is a favourite haunt of mine. I went and checked us in at The Flying Fish and to see if my accent was going to help get us a table altogether it didn’t work and for some reason I got stressed about something but can’t remember what now ha-ha but then I sent Chuck down to sort out the booking because it felt like we were waiting an age... oh yes they were running way behind on their ADR’s anyway we finally got seated on 2 round tables next to each other and honestly whilst it would have been great to have been seated together it’s not like we never all dine together!

Flying Fish NEVER disappoints me. I cannot recall the number of times I have eaten here because I go so often.

Stacy was on the Dining Plan so couldn’t have an appetizer but I shared my crab cakes with her as I had already eaten quite a lot that day already!

Then I went for the Wrapped Snapper because quite frankly it would have been rude not to and I love it!

Cinderfella opted for the… steak (this will be a common occurrence on this trip so get used to it now!)

Desserts were super scrummy I went for the pumpkin cheesecake, a big reason why I love going to Disney at this time of year..

Stacy had the Trio of Concession Sweets - Out on the Boardwalk - Popcorn Mousse and Caramel Corn, Cherry-limeade popsicle, Peanut butter-chocolate-marshmellow moon pie, and pound cake fries which I want next time we eat there IF it’s still on the meny.

The Dreamers do Flying Fish!

After dinner Stacy was heading off to the store with some of our other Disnemooner pals... the rest of us were going to Jellyrolls but Cinderfella was tired and he couldn’t be persuaded to come so I walked back with him to the room and got changed and then headed back to Jellyrolls. It wasn’t that busy at all… maybe a little too dead but we made the best of it and had front row tables which was fun. Scotty was playing and he was originally a favourite of Tia’s for which we ribbed her about for years but he’s sort of become a favourite for all of us now and he’s so not like the 12 yr old looking guy we first remember him as ha-ha

To place song choices you have to take your napkin with song choice written on and tip onto one of the pianos on the stage, well I just cannot heave myself up there so I started getting on my knees anyway Scotty decided I was now to be called the Oompa Loompa for the rest of the night which was funny even if it was at my expense

Great play list fun night but it was late I have no idea what time it was when we left but early hours of the morning, Patrick and Roger were gentlemen and walked me all the way back round the lake to Beach Club even though they were staying at The Boardwalk, god love them!

Cinderfella was out for the count when I got back to the room!

Yeah this was probably one of our most packed days... I love doing Disney with friends but I always need my downtime just to enjoy it with my Cinderfella and sometimes I even like to do it all on my own-some!

Thanks sweets - Ohanas is fun and the food is good - it's limited in variety but it's really good. I do love that dress - I'm now trying to get back into it before the next trip!
