My sister and I were talking about our trip and got talking about MNSSHP.:woohoo:

We both want to dress up, mainly because we can, and were wondering if World of Disney sell Adult outfits or should we just get them from the Disney Store over here before we leave? I can't remember seeing Adult outfits in World of Disney last time we were there but that doesn't mean they weren't there of course.

Any help would be great.

Oh.... we are going as Snow White and Belle.. original I know but for forever we have talked about ourselves as being snow white and belle so now we can make it happen for one night! :rotfl2:

I have never seen any in WDW - we are buying ours over here and taking them with us.

I'm pretty certain they don't sell them at the parks, probably to discourage the adults buying them and wearing them outside of the MNNSHP event.

Sounds fun, I'll tell you one thing though, if you go as a villian you can get loads of CM interaction.

I wen't as the wicked queen one year (with the person with me going as Snow White) and apart from getting lots of cool posed shots of me "looming" over her, I got loads of cool interaction with the CMs.

The "real" wicked queen had a conversation with me about me being too nice bringing my step daughter out and asked if I needed any apples, Snow White screamed and ran away when she saw me and the musicians on the Haunted Mansion float got onto their knees and started doing the "we're not worthy" routine! It was amazing fun! :lmao:

I have also never seen adult costumes for sale in Disney. There are plenty of other places that sell them though - such as Walmart and shops on I-Drive - but whether they will have what you want may not be a risk worth taking.

And you are definately doing the right thing by dressing up. Our whole family did last year, with Cinderella (pre-transformation), Fairy Godmother, ghosts, pirates and an undertaker. All the CM are really cool about it and you will get plenty of interaction with the characters and other guests.
Theres loads of pics of our MNSSHP in the trip report below if you wanted to see what we wore :thumbsup2

Make sure what you are wearing is lightweight, we went on the 6 October last year and it so humid at night. I think dressing up is great though, just be careful over what you wear!

There are loads of uk based websites you can get adult disney fancy dress costumes too

I'd definitely chek eBay etc as you could find a bargain.

Definitely stay cool though as we went in shorts and T-shirts last year and were still trying to stay in A/C as much as we could!

Awesome night though, we can't wait to go back!

Its a great night! we have been 3 times now, went last September and dressed as a couple of hippies :rotfl2:

We all went as pirates and got lots of interaction as we were all dressed the same. If was fantastic!

Thanks for all your replies- they have really helped a tonne!!

We will buy our costumes over here and make sure they are at least light weight. I'm definitely dressing up now since everyone seemed to have had a blast when they did it.

jharrowell - thanks for the info about dressing up as a villian. I'm now consider it... I've always wanted to be evil, even just for one night. I'm far to goody two shoes for my own liking sometimes! hehehe

I'l be sure to post pics when the time comes - only 7 months, one week, one day to do! ;-)

I bought my Malificent outfit from eBay - offical Disney one - I searched International listings and bought mine from the States - postage was more expensive but the outfit was superior to anything I'd seen over here. At least if you start looking now, you'll have plenty of time to get it shipped over. I have wore it twice now - once to MNSSHP in WDW and once on Halloween night at DLRP.

In 2007 we ordered our costumes (adult and kids) from disney us site and had them delivered to our WDW resort. We got more choice this way and also was much much cheaper. WDW resorts charge about $7 for handling any packages.

Slightly off the subject be sure you are a nice confident personality before you dress up. When we visited in 2007 we were about two of the twenty adults dressed up and felt like such wallies that we changed back into regular clothing about half way through. This last trip we went on 29th and didn't dress up (bought the mnsshp T shirts at MK at 7pm and did a quick change in the restrooms) but many more people were dressed up. Not many 'proper' costumes though, more pirates, thing 1, etc.

If you are brave enough you will have an amazing time!!! Might see you there.

What dates are you there. We are at SSR 2nd September 12th September and are hoping to do the MNSSHP around 10th September:thumbsup2

We were there in October - and bought our costumes online before we went away - like PPs have said its great for choice and ive never seen any(?) costumes on sale at WDW either.

Once you start going through all the costumes available (heaps of sites - check on ebay for costumes when you see ones you like too, same thing for cheaper sometimes!) - i know i really got into looking at them all.

We went as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell - and I think cause we wondered the park together we got a lot of attention, for other guests and CMs - one moment that sticks out is when we walked past Peter Pans Flight and IASW towards Frontierland a CM came running over yelling that we'd escaped from the ride, we were meant to be in there :rotfl:

Usually at home im quite shy / dont draw attention to myself, but I found the atmosphere there - it was fun to be part of it all and be in MK dressed up!

Also - just to add we were there end of October (at the party 31st and saw everyone arriving 27th), so it was closer to Halloween - but id say at least half of adults I saw were dressed up!

*Have Fun* :) :) :) It was a highlight of our trip and id make sure to go back sept/oct to make sure we could do this party again!

We went as dalmations last year and got loads of attention. Cruella came up to us in the parade to talk and we got a great photo with her.

We couldn't believe it, kids were saying 'look there are the dalmation family' and people were asking for our photos!!!

I made the costumes, it was so easy

We all dressed up as Ghostbusters last year,it was BRILLIANT !!

We got so much attention, people stopped and asked to get ther pictures with us,there was even a line at one point !!

Even the Disney Characters were shouting " who ye gonnae call ? "

I think DS will be too big for his this year tho...:sad1:

We dressed up as captain cook peter pan and tinkerbell who was 20. Although not all dress up it really was fun. I loved the attention so cool in fancy dress in MK. Have fun.

I want to dress up this year - thinking Tink or Alice.

DD dresses up in the parks anyway so will just wear one of her favourite costumes.

Chocolate Minnie - Thanks for the advice - I think we are pretty set on the dressing up. My sister thinks she is actually Belle so will be in her element dressed up as her. Our dates are 10th-24th September so just waiting for the dates to be published before we decide which night we will go.

Sapper383 - I am loving your pictures. Super cute and what a keep sake. I hope we come away with pictures just as good.

Thanks to everyone else for your comments, you have all given me loads of info.:flower3: I'll be trawlling online for my costume and my mum is going to make my sisters Belle costume because SHE WANTS the blue dress so she is different than everyone else. Apparently you can't buy the blue dress anywhere!! I'm so excited for it and it's over 7 months away!!!:dance3:
