or non Boxing Day, as it seems the Americans don't recognise this day, and once Christmas Day was out of the way it was all back to normal.
We had a lie in today, shock horror, and didn't surface until at least ten, we had no plans for today, which is part of what I loved about this trip, we pretty much did what we wanted when we wanted, which involved cancelling some ADR's which we were always able to replace with something else. Over coffee and a sit out on the balcony, we decided to go to the cinema, a quick phonecall to the cinema at Downtown Disney, and we decide on Enchanted at 12.40. I had been wanting to see this, but thought it wouldn't be Ians sort of thing, but we both really enjoyed it, and it was fun to see Disney poking fun at themselves.
On the way back to Saratoga we needed to walk past Raglan Road, and feel it would be rude not to make use of their little beer garden, so we popped in for a Guinness for Ian and a glass of wine for me. We were a bit peckish after our drink so decided to try lunch at Cookes of Dublin, we both got the fish and chips, and the dohbar as we were using the Dining Plan, the fish and chips were scrummy, and I would definately go back and eat here, the dohbar though, yucky gloop would be my description, saying that I dont have much of a sweet tooth, so it could well be heaven to someone else.
We wander back to Saratoga and have a sit out for a couple of hours watching the world go by.
Tonight was the night for the Drink Around The Monorail, I was even sad enough to get t-shirts printed for us, we were a right Howard and Hilda, here is Ian modelling his.
they had our user names on the back
We headed to Downtown Disney and had our first drinks of the evening at our beloved Margarita Bar, a Rum Runner for Ian, and a Margarita for me. We then jumped on the bus to The Wilderness Lodge, it was beautifully decorated,
we head to the Territory Lounge. This was the first time we had been there, and were both impressed, very relaxing, we got two of these little beauties,
I dont remember the names, but I know they were both some sort of margarita and very good, so good in fact that when I popped for a ciggie break, there were two more on the table when I got back, I sternly admonished Ian for this, as the plan had been to have just one drink at each bar, he responded with "I'm on holiday", theres no answer to that really. We had a lovely waitress here, she was so sweet, and would have encouraged us to stay all night I think.
From the Wilderness Lodge, we get a bus to the MK and then onto the monorail for the Contemprary, and the Outer Rim, where we get two Blue Glowtinis, I just like to bring the flashing icecube things home with me, things like that amuse me. As an added bonus we get to see the Electrical Light Pageant from the bar, which was an extra treat.
Back onto the Monorail, this time to the Poly and the Tambu Lounge, where we get two more of those fabbie Lapu Lapus. By this time the alcohol has caused rumblies in the tumblies and we decide that we are not going to make The Grand Floridian and Mizners, next year hopefully. We decide to call it a night and head back to Saratoga.
We were asked a few times about our t-shirts and the DIS, I think two Scottish families asked us, amongst others, we pointed them in the direction of the Disboards, but I've not come across them on here yet, I think we must have scared them off
Back at Saratoga I phone my mate Papa John, and order our usual works with no olives, I am asked if I would like a side of Garlic Breadsticks, of course I would I am drunk, you know that feeling when the booze bunny has been and you could eat the world.. It turned out to be a mistake as the breadsticks alone would have fed us, and probably the six studios around us! I think we may have watched the start of a lady movie "Your Movies On" but the sleep monster came and we didn't see the end
We will do this next year, hopefully getting to Mizners as well ...
