We are staying at OKW and now my brother in law and his girlfriend want to come to Florida from Germany to go to Disney for the first time but they need to be economical. I recommended all star movies because of the new rooms or Holiday Inn Disney springs. However I’m reading that movies is the last bus stop and busses get full and more recent reviews say the rooms are dirty. I also suggested Flamingo crossing hotels and they could rent a car but they would be farther from us? Any recommendations would be much appreciated thank you!

Can they rent DVC points and stay at OKW? The only budget I have stayed at is Pop and that was years ago before the renovation. Honestly, I'd just book the cheapest value. Since this is their first trip they probably want to stay on-site and have the Disney transportation system, so that would be my suggestion. If they are willing to rent a car or use UBER and stay off site their options open up.

OKW doesn’t have availability and would be out of their price range

Drury over on hotel row is opening soon or has opened. Brand new and they have food in addition to breakfast. Full disclosure: I haven't stayed there (we're DVC) but I've read good things about their brand. It is only about 2 miles (?) from OKW.

I checked. They are booked thanks though!

Do you qualify through your OKW membership to use Interval International? We booked a *getaway* 2 BR Villa over at Marriott Grande Vista with cash (no points) for $455 plus tax for 7 nights. There were other resorts to chose from in the area. You can see it from your DVC webpage when making reservations.

All Stars usually have their own buses, the only time they might share is in the middle of the day when it’s less busy. We stayed at All Star Movies and the only time we shared a bus was if we came back to the hotel for a midday break. We had zero issues with cleanliness but this was back in 2019. We’re planning to stay there in January again.

Do you or family member in Germany have eligibility for Military or Dept of Defense discounts ? Shades of green.org
If you are DVC and booked your trip with DVC , I think you can call and ask for the member 25% cash discount booking rate availability.
When is your trip ?
Have you checked Swan or Dolphin? They sometimes have AAA or teacher discounts .
Are you booking as an American with your ID? That might be easier for changes or updates or cancellations . You can be the lead and then add German family name as guest and when they arrive they can use their credit card at front desk update info.
I have heard booking thru Costco package at some of their choices will include all resort fees and parking at Swan & Dolphin.

If they have a rental - I would check/price the Hampton Inn in Lake Buena Vista. Breakfast included and if I remember right, they don't charge daily parking fee.

We are not DVC owners, we are renting through Disney Vacation store. Nor is family military (well his dad is but he isn’t traveling). I do have AAA but even with discount swan and dolphin are expensive with resort fee
I think they would prefer the rates they see at all stars which are around 180 this is 2/28-3/7

Thank you. They are bookending their trip with us with their own vacation time to the coast and it is cheaper to just keep their car for the whole trip time so free parking would be nice!
