Thursday 13th
Another hot day promised by the weatherman, the locals are looking for a cooler period of weather, but not us.:worship: We are enjoying this. Off to Epcot its DDIL's birthday today. :cake: So DS arranged for a card and balloon to be sent to their room, this would not be there until we returned from the park.On arrival at Epcot DS and myself call at guest services and collect a birthday badge with her name on it.She pinned it onto the shoulder strap on her bag along with her 1st visit badge and the conservation badge from AK, her bling she called them. It wasnt long before the CMs were wishing her a happy birthday. We walked through to TT as DW and DDIL didnt want to ride DS and I went on as single riders.Straight on, no waiting. Then we walked over to Ellens UoE, I told DDIL this was longest ride in Disney World 45 minutes long. When we came back out into the sunshine Mission Space was our next stop, we did the spinny round ride then went over to the Land to do Living with the Land and The Circle of Life before going through to the World Showcase. We were just strolling, enjoying the weather. Went into Mexico and did the Rio El Tempo, liked this updated version, the old one was showing its age I think.
Norway and the Maelstrom a favourite for us, I like the Leila perfume and DW always uses the tester when we go in as well as stocking up on more to bring home. At lunch time we ate in China then continued on around the Showcase. We stopped in Italy to watch the street performer jugglling with balls and asking spectators to join in. We had a quick look in Japan, We like to see if anyone is buying pearls, but not this time. Outside American Adventure is the funnel cake entertainment spot. It always amuses me to see people walking around with the white topping blown into their chests.
When we got to France the 2 guys were setting up up their chairs for the balancing act so we stopped to watch, strolled through the UK and on to Canada where DW and I went to watch the new version of O Canada, still good. We took a slow walk back to the entrance to catch the bus back as we were going out to DTD for the evening.
We were all showered, changed and spruced up for DTD.We took the river cruise down to the Market Place, then transferred over to the west side by ferry. We had secretly booked the Cirque de Soleil as a birthday present for our DDIL for this evening. We strolled around the shops then went into the Virgin Megastore no sooner had we gone in we said we wanted to go somewhere else DDIL said "but we've just come in " DS knew about the surprise and just said lets go, so off we went towards the Cirque DDIL didnt know where we were going she just thought is was another shop up some stairs. When we got to the doors we gave her her ticket for the show and she was so surprised that we had kept it a secret. :bday:
We had seats in the front centre section. The performance was amazing. It was non stop entertainment. What those four girls could do with 2 sticks a bit of string and a wooden cone was amazing. The show started at about 8.40 with a pre-show and when we came out at the end I looked at my watch 10.50 I couldn't believe it. We were hungry and as we hadn't booked anywhere for a meal ( I love House of Blues but couldnt wait 40 minutes for something to eat) so we thought we would try somewhere different. We ended up at Raglan Road we had not been there before so thought we would give it a try. I have to say I was very dissapointed, the sevice was poor,we were brought the wrong drinks, charged for drinks we didnt have and as for the food 6 scallops perched on top of forks were very expensive. Still we didn't let it spoil our evening overall it was a great night. :dance3: :dance3:

Another great day,Lovely Birthday surprise:goodvibes

A lovely busy day. At least you tried somewhere different for a meal, even if you wouldn't go there again.

We love watching people with the pearls too and great surprise :goodvibes

It must have been a truly amazing birthday for your daughter in law. First time we went to Raglan Road we felt the same that it was pricey and not a great choice of food with slow servers. However it is worth giving it a second chance especially if you are Saratoga Springs fans. It is a must for us when staying at Saratoga as you can just walk there and stagger back!

Great report

A lovely birthday for your DDIL, and well done for keeping Cirque a surprise. What a shame about Raglan Road, we had excellent service there in October.
