Woke up on Tuesday and realized we had been here a week, time flies when you are busy enjoying yourself.
AK today, catch the bus, the driver was a bit of a rebel. he turned off the info tape they have installed on the buses and gave us his own take on the world. He was funny as well as informative.Good for him. it was going to be hot again today so we went to do the KS before the animals got out of the heat. Saw all the usual ones, helped chase the poachers and saved Little Red. I am sure that the Lion on top of the rocks is an anamatronic, he is allways there,no matter when we go. Next up EE. DW did this last year and said never again, its the going backwards that put her off. So 3 of us ascended. We managed to get the back seats (allways the best on any ride I think ) a young girl was sitting next to me , she had not ridden before and asked me about the backwards bit. After I told her she would be fine she relaxed bit and seemed to enjoy the ride.Everthing was a walk on this morning so we tried the River Rapids next. It was hot and I thought if we got a bit damp we would soon dry off in the sun
Off we went and whump! DDIL took the first 100 gallons of water all over herself. She was soaked, the rest of us just got wet, She didn't just get soaked once but twice, there wasn't a dry square inch of her. When we came off the ride we passed a stall (handily placed)
that sells t.shirts, shorts sundresses and towels so we bought her a sundress (early birthday present) While she was getting changed the rest of us stood like scarecrows in the sun to dry off,
Over to Dino Land where we did the Dinosaur and Primeval whirl. Then it was lunch time so we went to the Flame Tree Restaraunt and sat outside in the sun, while we were there we noticed a hawk sitting in a tree above us, a CM told us they had tried to capture it but it was smarter than them. After lunch we did A Bugs Life, kept the seats a surprize for the youngsters. Lion King ,which is always excellent, then on to Nemo. DW and I had not seen this before and although it was good we both thought it was a bit long, just time for a walk through one of the trails and then off to the bus stop to go back to POR to get ready for this evenings MVMCP.
Getting off the bus it seemed busy, just a mix of people without tickets leaving and people entering the park who did, or so I thought. The CM who put our wristbands on told us tonights party was sold out. Going up Main street which was thronged was a hassle. We were feeling hungry so we headed over to Peco Bills and then we got a spot for the beginning of the parade, by the DVC place in frontierland. After we had watched, videod, photgraphed everything that moved we went to Thunder Mountain. We spotted a LGMH on someones bag here but they were too far ahead in the queue to talk to.
DW prefers TMR in the dark and we managed to get seats at the back again.I always try to embarrass DW with lots of whooping and hollering on this and once again was admonished for setting a bad example to the kids.
We went to the castle for the fireworks but we could not get a very good spot so we had a limited view, we were across from Caseys Corner but the trees were blocking some of the lower level fireworks. We did however have a good view of the lights on the castle.
We went into the Christmas Shop when PANIC
they had no MVMCP disc ornaments left. I was dispatched at great haste to tommorrowland where there were some. They are only sold on party nights and DW had to have one. The crowds weren't thinning out yet so we had some hot chocolate and cookies and then on to POTC. When we had seen Captain Jack again the crowds had started to thin and the second parade was due so we went over to SM, I passed on this as my back was starting to play up but DS and DDIL really enjoyed it. DS found the rocket a tighter squeeze than the last time he rode it. Buzz Lightyear was empty now so we rode again, this time I managed to get control of the joystick before DW so my score was a lot higher than previously as she likes to spin us round most of the time.
It had been a long day and it was pushing midnight so we called it a day and left the park to get the bus. There was a queue of about 3 busfulls for Riverside but no one for the FQ so we got that one and walked up the path between the two resorts, a lot quicker
