Family Suites Discounts-Pin or Military?

Are the Family Suites included if you have a Pin code? Can you use the military discount for them?

Yes, you can use the military discount on the suites, but Disney only releases a certain # of rooms per discount, so once they are gone, they are gone.

If you are referring to the new suites at the Art of Animation, I don't believe you can use any discount at this time, since they are so new. But you can at ASMusic.

You might come out cheaper at a DVC Villa with the 40% military discount.

Question about the military discount. My sister works for the gov and has a military designation she said although she wouldn't be classified as military but is DOD. She wants me to plan a trip for her, her son, DIL, and 2 grandchildren. I didn't know about the military discounts. If I were to call in and inquire about this will she get the 40% off on DVC? She really wants to stay there. I didn't know about this. Thanks for any info. What would I need from her to check the rate for her? She doesn't have time to do it and I told her I would do all the planning for her.

Not Military or Pin, but I got 20% AP discount for the ASMu Family Suites in May 2012. Not great, but I wanted to see the suites and it is one night pre-cruise.

Well she says it's odd as she has a military designation. I'm not sure of the exact connection. Keep in mind this is government. She would never do anything that wasn't allowed or perfectly legal. I really don't think losing your job is worth the discount. She was asking me since she had the military designation, and as I have never dealt with that wasn't sure.I told her I thought Shades of Green was only one, but now I see this I am wondering.

I do not believe DoD is included under the discount...check the Shades of Green Website..they have pretty good information..

I have been asked twice for the military ID card when I had purchased a hotel at Disney. The lady was very sweet and said that you would be suprised how many people try to use discounts that they havent qualified for.

My understanding is that DOD does not have the same benefits as military. A DOD ID card is different than military.

She can't use the Military room discount at the Disney Resorts, but she may be eligible to stay at Shades of Green if she has a DoD ID card. She may also be able to purchase discounted tickets at the ticket desk there as well.

There is alot of information on the Shades of Green website.

I don't know when she was looking at going, but we went in January and stayed at BWV, we rented points for the Villa portion of our stay and that was even cheaper than the 40% discount. She might consider that.
