Beginning July 31st, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be debuting a new Family-Style Dining Experience at Pizzafari! This is one of many new menu changes happening recently at the park.

Guests can still choose the classic quick-service at Pizzafari or enjoy a more relaxed dinner with the new option.

After checking in at the podium, guests will place their drink orders, then be seating in one of the dining rooms that will be set aside for this experience. Family-style plates of food will be delivered to the table, including two different salads and three different entrees, including pasta, chicken and pizza, plus a dessert.

Family-Style Dining will be available from 5pm to 8pm daily and costs $19.99 for guests over 10, and $11.99 for kids 3 to 9, including tax and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests may also choose to use 1 Quick Serve credit on the Disney Dining Plan. Reservations are encouraged and will be available starting July 17th.

In addition to the new dining experience, Pizzafari has shaken up their quick serve menu, with a return to the classic round pizzas, including Cheese, Pepperoni, Vegetable, and Sausage & Pepperoni. The Shrimp Flatbread is also still on the menu.

If you want something a little extra, pair your pizza with a Caesar Salad with Chicken or toss in a Cannoli Cake for dessert.

Interesting....may be worth checking out for a QS credit. Any idea how the family style will work with this menu?

Interesting to see changes there after the disastrous attempt at food they gave us in early June but I still think they give condemned prisoners that food as a last meal so they don't mind dying. Anything to get that taste out of their mouths.

Anybody able to book this yet? I'm not seeing it on the Disney site as bookable yet. The description on the Disney site also says no dining plan accepted, which contradicts what is posted on the blogs so far.

I called to make a reservation in December, but the woman on the phone said that it looks like it's not loaded yet for the 180 day, because it's listed as a special event. She was making reservations for August, though. If I'm on Free Dining, and it takes a QS credit (as the Disney blog indicated), I wonder if it will include my choice of beverage, which would include a beer? I guess time will tell!

I tried to make a reservation for the beginning of Nov and I was unable to book that! It appears that reservations are available to book up until the end of Oct!

I called in and was able to book for August. The CM confirmed that it is 1 QS credit even though the website said it's not included on dining plan. Still not bookable online, but I'm sure those kinks will be out soon and hopefully bookable there sometime later today.

I was able to book it for August 19 by calling could not nook online-kept getting the "someone ate the page" message. Hope someone posts a review before then!

I was able to book it for August 22 by calling. Online is not working. Does anyone know if Family Style means they will bring out more of anything you want or is it just one serving?

thinking of eating here alone...i wonder if they will let me take the leftover food.

I tried to book today for October 18th and it gives times and everything and then Lady and the Tramp come up and says you need to call. Hoping it will be fixed. Seems like a good use of a QS.

I really love the concept of this, but a little annoyed beer and wine are separate charges even if using a QS credit. Would be nice to have one alcoholic beverage included if you're using the DDP.

All I’m going to say is that they should bring back either the calzones they served when they first opened or the hot Italian hero’s they had in 2010.

Those were some delicious eats!
