Hi! Question for those who have experience with the Deluxe family staterooms on the Dream..

We will be cruising with our friends who are a family of 5. So, they will be getting a family stateroom w/Verandah. We would like to have a stateroom with a verandah that can be opened up so our balconies are adjoined (don't have to have adjoining rooms, though). We did this for our first cruise when our families had 3 staterooms all together (5D) and it was super nice to have the open space.

Even though we are a family of 4, we will likely be getting a family stateroom just so we can have a room next to our friends. My question, though - it looks like the family stateroom verandahs all have those high white walls on either side... can those still be opened up to adjoin balconies like the others do? Just looking at options and want to know what to expect.

Thanks!

We've stayed in 6550, a 5D room. The dividing walls are basically two vertical parts. One part is removable (what connects to the balcony railing). The other is not (what connects to the outside wall of your room). They remove "half" the dividing wall touching the balcony essentially. Sorry I don't have a photo.

The verandah dividers on the Dream can all (except for a few on deck 10) be opened. Here's a divider that can be opened (the forward part opens and folds back on the back part). It's not a totally opened space, just a small doorway to the next one.

Here's a view of several dividers open:

Perfect! For some reason I thought the tall dividers wouldn't connect.

Thanks for your help!

An unless you are really good friends, I suggest closing it when you are joining the verandah club.
Ha! I hear you :teeth: These are our oldest and dearest friends, our kids have grown up together. They're basically family. It's all good :)

Just confirming veranda connections, regardless of neighboring cabin category.

Verandas do connect between cabin categories, regardless if the cabins connect internally.

IOWs, one could have a cat 5c and it will connect to whatever veranda is next door, even if it is a cat 4a, for example.
Unless on deck 10, then it gets weird.

Hope that makes sense.

Enjoy

Adjoining or connecting? There's a difference. Adjoining means next to each other. Connecting means they have a door between them. Common error.

We don't care if the rooms are adjoining or connecting - I just wanted to make sure that the verandahs could be connected, regardless. And it sounds like they can. Thanks!
