We were scheduled for the Cape May Character Breakfast, but everyone was tired, so we decided to cancel and sleep a little later. We would get packed and head over to Downtown Disney and let DS have all the virtual fun he could stand at DisneyQuest. It was a plan!
We ate up the rest of the cereal and bagels we had bought and told the Mousekeeping lady she could have the soft drinks and bottled water we didn't drink. We finished up packing and checked out. The Beach Club Bell Services put our luggage in storage since we would be coming back from DTD to be picked up by Emmanuel from Tiffany Towncar at 4:20 or so for our 6:30 flight. We caught the Disney bus over to DTD and checked things out. It was about 30 minutes early for DQ opening, so we browsed at Virgin Records for a little while.
DisneyQuest was about to open, so we headed over. Our ParkHoppers had a DQ plus, so we just used them and went right inside. We headed up to the Pirates of the Caribbean Quest for Gold. It was fun! Then we did the Virtual Jungle Cruise. Next we went to Cyberspace Mountain and decided to ride Coasters designed by experts instead of trying to design our own. DD and I rode a pretty wild one with 6 inversions. DH and DS rode a pretty tame one and then the CM let DH stay on and ride a wild one with DD. It was cool getting to watch them as they rode the simulator. They actually film you as you ride and try to sell you the film!! We went to Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride (not sure on that name) and rode that. It is a VR ride where you wear a helmet. It made me very sick. I immediately got a horrible headache. I should have just taken off the helmet, but I tried to continue the ride. It was awful. I won't try to do any of those kinds of simulations again.
DD and I decided to explore DTD and leave DH and DS at DisneyQuest. We would catch up in time to head back to the Beach Club. We had a few souvenirs to buy and a few gifts to take home to some friends as well. We did a mad dash all the way across DTD, went in almost every store and even got free chocolate squares being given away at the Ghiradelli Chocolate Store. DD found the perfect gifts for 2 of her friends, I found a couple of nice things for friends, and we headed back to DQ to hook back up with DH and DS.
Time was getting away from us, so we took a cab back to the Beach Club. Emmanuel was there right on time and whisked us off to the airport. DH turned to me in the cab and asked me, "Have I mentioned to you that I was elected Judge back in my home state?"
The rest of the trip home was a bad dream, not quite a nightmare. All I'm going to say is that we missed the last flight out of DFW to Shreveport.
Even with the bad ending, it was a wonderful trip. DH told me over and over how great it was, and how it was in large part due to all my research and planning. But I say "Thanks" to all you DISers who are always there to help and answer questions. You all helped make this trip an overwhelming success!!
