Family Pass with Kids Bowl Free: Love the program but venting

I don't think any of our lanes are AMF. I will check into it. Right now, though, DH has a bum shoulder, so he can't bowl. IF I bowl I can usually only hold out for one game due to back & hip problems, so we prob. won't even bother w/ a family pass for now.

It looks like, at least in our area, the AMF is different program--not the same as Kids Bowl Free. The family pass there is $39.95, the kids age range is the same as Kids Bowl Free. The hours aren't listed on the website, and since I won't use it, I won't sign up....The program there is called AMF Summer Games. I think there are other bowling alleys in our area that have their own summer program, too. We have had more centers added to Kids Bowl Free every year, though. It does look like at least 2 different programs are being discussed, though. Oh, and our family rate for any of the KBF centers is still $24.95

I just checked our local bowling place's website and they have incredabowl....1 free game per kid per day all summer. Yes!

I *think* the AMF Kids Bowl Free program hours are the same nationwide (for those that participate). The posted hours are M-F till 6 p.m.. No weekend hours.

Oh well.

Glad it worked out for you.

It's a great thing to do on a summer day that is blisteringly hot.

Well, it's fun anytime but you appreciate it more when you want to get out of the heat.

Are you using AMF for the family pass? We were able to go to different bowling alleys using the one family pass. I asked if we could use it while on vacation in another city and was told yes. Never had a problem. Same for the Kids Bowl Free. It's in the system and is recognized, anywhere. At least that's what I was told. If it is AMF you are using I'd look into that.

We have bowling shoes from ebay too. It made going for the kids truly free because after a time, the shoes paid for themselves.

I just re-read this...are you saying that you think you can use the KidsBowlFree Family pass at any center?

We have used them at any AMF near us that participates. Once you are in the system for the program, you are in. That was our experience. We haven't had a problem. It was nice because sometimes you are in a different area. Fun to see the different places too.

Still, I'd check. It could be places are different I suppose.

So your AMF centers in your area fall under Kids Bowl Free? The one AMF here is not part of Kids Bowl Free, but has it's own program. Maybe that's the difference? I'm going to check on it, though. It would be nice if I could sign up at my favorite center, but go to any of them.

I don't think we will be signing up this year either. We did the past two years. First year was 24.95 for Family Pass and we didn't go that much. Last year family pass was free and we did go but not enough. It's still a slim possibility but since I can't bowl anymore due to RA I'm not sure how much the kids will go. Hours for us didn't change from last year though.

Yep. We had to pick a center as a home base. But after that we could take our pass anywhere that participates. It was nice. I say *was* because I hope that hasn't changed too! :upsidedow :goodvibes I'm thinking it hasn't because there was no mention of that kind of change while signing up.
