Family of The day AND a Cabana!!

We sailed on the July 1st Dream cruise and were picked as family of the day at the terminal! We were beyond excited!! We also managed to score a cabana a couple of weeks before our sailing, and it was the best thing EVER!! We certainly were living the dream on this cruise! If anyone happened to be on the same cruise, and videoed the family of the day part, I would love to see it!!

Oh wow that is wonderful! We saw the family of the day selected on our cruise and it was so special how they were treated! COngrats! And congrats on getting a cabana! That is hard to do on the Dream, they are addicting though, hard to go to CC without one once you have had it

We had #2! Loved that it was close to bathroom and food! But...didn't necessarily love how close it was to family beach. But we just went further down the cabana beach to play. Definitely will be hard to go back without a cabana next time if we don't score one!!

I know being selected is random but I'm curious... what was your PAT? Were you concierge? I just wonder if there is method to their madness (awesomeness!).

We love having a cabana but I'd never get one close to the family beach again. (Though, obviously if it's a last minute score you take what you can get). We were staying CL and I requested my cabana with shoreside and I think I had cabana 2 also. The cabana beach was beautiful and quiet but you could definitely hear the noise from the masses on the family beach. That was all good anyway. Until a furious and (sounded to be) intoxicated woman tried to duck over to the cabana beach and was stopped by a CM. She was yelling loudly and pointing at us (at that point, myself and 2 teen girls were the only ones in the water I cold see on the cabana side). "What do you mean I can't go over there? THEY'RE over THERE!! See them with that beach to themselves!! I can go over there too". It went on for several minutes, the girls and I headed back to the cabana and then went in the water way further up the beach later.

I'm sailing again in October with a SB cabana. I actually called shoreside 2 days too late and all family cabanas were gone. (This is for a group, my girls aren't coming). If there had been cabanas to choose from, mine would have been far from the family beach.

Not concierge and we arrived at terminal before it opened around 945. This was our third cruise and we were approached after leaving the check in line. It was amazing experience!

I should also add that while at the Magic Kingdom yesterday, my daughter had a Splash Mountain dress on that mimics the cast members uniform. And we were given a FastPass for the Ride! A lot of extra pixie dust this trip!

We were picked for Family of the Day when checking in to the Contemporary one year, it's funny how such a simple thing can make a trip feel so special! I'm so happy your family was able to experience that, congrats again!

Yes private beach, $450 for adult only beach and $590 for family beach...
Family of the day are special things like getting announced as family of the day at port, getting to board first, I think Room service hooks you up with special things, etc.

It was $643....price goes up in the Summer. We had three of us....myself and my two kids.

Family of the day got us a private table with coloring activities at the terminal, escorted to kids club front of line to get band, escort to front of line for terminal character, a printed certificate, our name on the board in the terminal and they took our picture, and an announcement in front of everyone, and we boarded first. Such an exciting experience for us! No other perks from it once on board for us though
