The date was December 25 (Christmas Day-- and the weather was absolutely beautiful)

Family:

Tom - husband
Sherrie - wife
Heidi - daughter
Raymond - son

Mickey woke up the family again and we were on the bus to Animal Kingdom around 8 am. We noticed the bus line to MK, was the longest line we seen at the resort. On the bus ride to AK I told everyone that our mission was to go on the safaris right away, no pin stopping or gift shop stopping until after the safari. This worked well and the safari was great. We seen all the animals except for Mrs. Lion. After the safari we roamed around Africa and then took the train ride to conservation station. Was an interesting place. Kids went into the petting farm. Stayed at conservation station for about an hour and then back on the train to Africa. Next we checked out the Tree of Life. The artwork is totally amazing. We did not go to Tough to Be A Bug because we (all except Tom) hate bugs. I actually have a phobia about them and Heidi and Raymond are not too fond of them either. We headed over to Asia to check stuff out there. We went to an attraction (once again I forget the name) where you walk down a jungle type trail and see komodo dragons, bats, tigers, gorillas. The animals were very interesting and the CMs were very informed on the animals. Next we watched people on Kali River Rapids. We noticed how wet some of the people were coming off that ride and none of us wanted to be that wet, so we did not partake on that one. After walking around Asia some more we noticed some kids had their faces painted with animals on it. We asked a CM where that was being done. Headed back to Africa to get Heidi's face painted. Heidi picked a bird mask that ended up being really pretty. Even before bed she did not want to wash it off. After the face painting Heidi noticed that she lost a pin somewhere in Africa. After looking in the immediate area with no luck, we decided to take the pins off the lanyard and put them on her vest. Then we were off to Camp Minnie and Mickey to check that place out. We seen the Lion King show that was great. The characters were amazing and the show was awesome. Walked around Camp Minnie and Mickey and seen some characters (Louie from the Jungle Book). Heidi got her picture but no autograph because Louie does not do autographs. Then we decided to head towards DinoLand. The kids loved the playground and digging for dinosaur bones. Seen the Tarzan Rocks show which was good. Very loud though. Checked out a dinosaur museum place which was interesting. Saw Dino-Sue and the entrance of the Dinosaur ride. We did not go on the dinosaur ride because we had to be at MK for dinner and did not have time to fast-pass or do the standby line. Told the kids that we were leaving AK soon and if there was anything they wanted to see or do. Both wanted to do the dinosaur playground again, so this is what they did and then we said good-bye to AK.

Then we headed to MK for our dinner PS at Crystal Palace. When we entered MK we knew that we were in trouble. The place was absolutely packed, at it was around 7 pm by now. People were lined up Main Street for the electrical parade which was not starting for another 2 hours. We headed to CP early, PS was not until 8:10. We checked in and told the CM at the podium that we were going to walk around and come back at 8. Well, the park was so packed, it was even impossible to just walk around. We went back to CP and told them that we were back and that we would wait on the porch. We waited about 5 minutes and our name was called. We were seated 25 minutes before our PS. The kids really enjoyed having the Pooh characters comes to our table and visit. Tom loved the food, though it was the best we had on the whole visit. The selection was great and our server, cannot remember his name, was also great. The characters we seen were Pooh, Piglet and Tigger. Heidi was a little disappointed that Eeyore was not around for that is her favourite character. She was not disappointed long for we had great character interaction once again with all three characters. Heidi even introduced her dad to Tigger as Tigger's biggest fan. After dinner we headed out of the park because it was still shoulder to shoulder people. On the bus ride back to the resort someone who had spent all day at MK told us that the park reached full capacity at 10:30 am. I am so thankful for this board for not recommending spending Christmas Day at MK. Back at the resort Heidi raced back to our room only to notice that housekeeping did not play with the stuffies around the room. Infact, housekeeping did not even take the tip envelope that we left. They made the bed and left the envelope on the bed. Which was too bad because that envelope had the biggest tip in it ~~ a small Christmas present. Oh well, more money for pins.

Once again the kids crashed on their pillows and were dead to the world until the next morning

I think you were smart leaving off Kaili River Rapids today. I'm sure it was cold enough to make wet clothes unbearable.

I don't enjoy water rides when it is cold either. Thanks for posting!

Sherrie, Thanks for sharring your day at AK with us.

Sure sounded crowded at MK. Our family loves Crystal Palace. We always try to eat here at least once.
