The date is December 24 (could not believe that it was Christmas Eve. Kept reminding ourselves that throughout the day)
Family:
Tom - hubby
Sherrie - wife
Heidi - daughter
Raymond son
After getting home last night we had a message from Tom's friends, Jack and Regina telling us to call them in the morning. They too stayed at AS Movies but in the dalmatians building. We called them back in the morning around 8. They wanted to know what we were doing that day. It was basically our free day. They were going to Epcot, so we all headed to Epcot. Which by the way was Tom and mine favourite park. We decided to meet behind the Christmas tree. Within a few minutes what should happen but a red double decker bus pulls up full of characters. We did not know this last time we were at Epcot. Heidi was happy because she finally got to see Minnie. We were starting to wonder if we would ever run into her. The characters that showed up were Minnie, Mickey, Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger (Tom's favourite character), Piglet, Daisy, Goofy, Terk, Chip and Dale. Heidi got all the autographs that she was missing and we did family pictures with the characters for possible Christmas cards next year. Tom got his picture alone with Tigger (his hero). After the characters left we chatted about what to do for the rest of the day. Jack and Regina live somewhere only 2 hours away from Disney (I am so jealous) so they go to WDW often. Regina wanted to make sure that we were not going to miss anything else since we missed the bus thing first time around. While we were talking, Jack introduced Heidi to pin trading. Heidi noticed all the pin trading centres everywhere prior to this day but did not give it a second thought. Well, Jack filled her in and created a monster. Jack and Heidi were crazy and on missions for the rest of the day trying to find certain pins. This ended up costing a small fortune, but Heidi loved it. Raymond remembered Epcot being a fish place and wanted to see the fish. We ended up going to the Coral Reef restaurant and seeing the tank inside. I was sorry that we gave up our reservation on our last visit. It is amazing. We were going to make PS for that evening but they were booked up. Next we headed towards Millenium Village. We checked things out and pigged out. I cannot remember what we all ate, but it was all delicious. Next we went for a tour around the world. It is so well done and beautiful you really think that you are in those countries. Of course, Jack and Heidi were on pin missions throughout the countries. Raymond got to see the koi pond in Japan again and Heidi got to rub the trolls nose in Norway again, and Tom and Sherrie got margaritas again in Mexico. So yummy. We ended up at Mickeys Gear again and bought more stuff. Amazingly the day just flew by and it was time for dinner. Where to eat. Jack and Regina took us over to the Beach Club where we (just the family for Jack and Regina did the candlelight processional) ate at Beaches and Cream. It was good. Once again, I cannot remember what everyone ate, but there was no complaints and the prices were good. I remember that I had a vanilla milkshake which ended up having whipped cream and candies on top. Raymond grabbed that real quick on me. After dinner we headed back to Epcot where Heidi wanted to go back on Test Track. The fast-pass machines were out of passes for the day and the line was 2 hours long. Needless to say, she did not get to go back on. So, we just walked around and checked things out until it was time for Illuminations. We got ready for the fireworks around 8:15. We stood near Canada right behind a beverage stand. Which ended up being really convenient because we bought stuff without getting in line. Once again kids had a delicious beavertail and Tom had quite a few ciders. At 9:30 illuminations still had not started. Announcements kept saying that they were going to be delayed for a few minutes. The CM at the refreshments booth in Canada said that this was the first time he seen them delayed. Well, they finally started and were well worth the wait. Illuminations was great and well presented. After the show we left the park and headed back to the resort. Even though the next day was Christmas Day, I wanted everyone out of the room by 7:30 for Animal Kingdom was next on the agenda
