Family of 6 - where to stay on property????

We are as family of 6. Where can you stay on Disney property that allows this? DH, Me, DS (11), DS (8), and 2 twin baby girls (8 months). Thanks!

I believe that the girls won't count on your room, so you'd be able to take any on Disney property. That said, however, two cribs in one of the smaller rooms could definately cramp the living quarters up. I'd go for renting points at one of the rooms over at OKW. We just came from there and the studios are very large.

The answer depends so much on your price range, but I do think they might limit you to 4 plus one infant in the rooms for 4. There are rooms for 5 at POR and they would work.

If you can afford a DVC rental that might be a good choice. I would do two connecting rooms at a value. The second bathroom is always nice and the babies could nap while the older kids watched TV, changed to swim suits, did whatever they needed to in the other room.

The Calypso buildings at All Star Music are #1 and #10 are nearest to the food court and bus stop.
They are the preferred buildings and cost about $12 extra per night.
The Calypso pool at ASMU has Donald Duck.

The Fantasia Buildings are the preferred buildings.
The All Star Movie Fantasia pool has Mickey.
The buses are wonderful.
Bus rides are shorter from the ALL Stars than POP according to PassPorter.com

Which is one the of the resons I the All Star Resorts --they can't be beat. I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney.
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic at the All Stars on his first visit. I can hardly wait.


FW cabins are also an excelent choice.They sleep 6 people and have lots of room for your family.(504 square feet.)
Each cabin has a bedroom,a living room and a full kitchen with pots and untensils. It also has a coffeemaker,a stove,microwave,refrigerator,dishwasher,cable tv,VCR,phone,hair dryer and wall safe.The living room has a pull down double bed and the bedroom has a seperate vanity,a double bed,and a bunk bed.
They have a petting farm,campfires with a sing-a-long and movies after for resort guests.
Sometime Chip and Dale join in at the campfire sing-a-long.
I am sure your family would enjoy it there.
BTW it is just a short boat ride over to the MK from there.

I would highly suggest a villa at a DVC resort for the simple convenience of having a washer and dryer right in the unit. The fully equipped kitchen won't be a bad thing either.

I would imagine you would be "legal" in a 1BR villa, but if you can swing the cost a 2 BR would be the best option for you.

If you're interested in trying to fit into one standard room, Caribbean Beach has the largest rooms of the moderates, and there are plenty of laundry facilities at the resort.

That being said, having our fourth child turned us into DVC members. Soon you will not be able to fit into one room no matter how well the kids get along!

I would probably vote for the FW cabins also. We stayed there twice when our four kids were younger. It is so nice to have that second room for sleeping and the kitchen came in handy for quick breakfasts. They are not cabins as in the wilderness. They are really small trailers made to look like a log cabin with a small deck and grill. There is a bedroom with a double bed and a set of bunks, a murphy bed that comes down out of the wall in the living room/kitchen, a full bath, full kitchen and maid service. Also, there is lots to do at the campgrounds, including a nightly campfire and outdoor movie.

As the kids got older, we switched to two connecting rooms so we would have two bathrooms. That would be my second choice for you just so you have that second room for sleeping babies!

Actually, I am not sure if you would be legal and/or comfortable in a DVC 1 BR villa. I would go for a 2BR. OKW has the lowest "cost". We are staying in a 2BR in September for the 1st time, and there will be lots of room. Traveling with kids, I can't imagine not staying in a villa at DVC now -- to have a full kitchen, laundry, extra space, etc. is so worth it to me. We stayed at the Poly in April, and it was a bit of a let down when we had to sit in a dark room while DD3 slept...wouldn't have to do that at DVC!

We stayed in a cabin at FW in January. There would be room for the babies to crawl around. Also, you won't have to worry about the children being too noisy and disturbing others like you do in a hotel room.
