I had heard that the 4 to a room max was due to fire code. Therefore, because I am a tad neurotic, I never cheat. My kids have no problem sleeping on the floor, but I'm always afraid there will be a fire and since it is 4 max the firemen will stop rescuing us after 4. I know. My friends all say that's ridiculous, but....well, you can't pick your neuroses, right?

I don't think it is a fire code thing because they all let you have 5 if one person is under a certain age. Fire codes are not age specific- they simply state the number of persons allowed in an area.
