We are currently booked in a 2 queen deluxe at HRH, but am having an anxiety attack over the cost. Would a regular double room with a cot be ok? Do the rooms at RPH accommodate 5, perhaps they may be less expensive? My kids are teenagers. HELP!

They are definitely less expensive, and technically can accomodate 5 people. However, it will probably be pretty tight with 3 teenagers, given that you're looking at downsizing to a room that is only 2/3 the size of the deluxe at HRH.

I agree with Rip. However, if you only plan on spending sleeping time in the room, it will be fine.

Yep. I'd save the cash myself. RPH is a beautiful hotel, much better theming, IMO, than HRH, though we enjoy staying at both.

I would stick with the HRH. The rooms are large so you will have plenty of room for getting ready in the mornings. Are you an AAA member, they give a good discount (along with discounts on entrance tickets and at the restaurants) or some other discount may come along. We have been staying at the HRH since our two were teens (now mid-20s) and your teenagers will love the atmosphere at the HRH. You will have room to put a roll-away in the room and fold it up during the day. We've actually started getting two rooms now that ours are older and at times travel with friends so the two bathrooms is a necessity. I vote for the HRH.

My vote is the royal pacific and the kids can use any of the universal hotel pools. My kids did this in June 2009 and they pool hopped but really like the royal pacific. They were all boys 18 and 19. Was a senior trip.
