Where are you staying? We toured a studio of AK and there was a sleeping chair as well as the beds. Hope you work it out.

Since your nephew is 22 I think you need to rethink the studio for that foursome. I'm with the others who say your best bet would probably be a two bedroom instead of 2 studios.
When we go down in November, we'll be getting 2 DVC rooms. 1 for us, 1 for our inlaws. My sis in law has a son, age 22 & a daughter, age 13. Plus my mother in law to make 4 in the room.
The comments on this thread crack me up.....My under-2 son slept on a kids Aerobed that we brought along in our luggage on the plane without hassle. My 4 yr old took turns sleeping with whichever of my 11- and 14- yr old cousins wanted to stay with us that night.
OMG, everyone is SO over thinking this. Just put your MIL on the balcony and be done with it.![]()
The comments on this thread crack me up. I can see what some of you are saying -- I know people who need a bed per person to be comfortable. But, believe it or not, there are some of us who can be just fine piling in together. We had 5 in a BWV studios last summer. My under-2 son slept on a kids Aerobed that we brought along in our luggage on the plane without hassle. My 4 yr old took turns sleeping with whichever of my 11- and 14- yr old cousins wanted to stay with us that night. (My aunt/uncle and 2 of their 3 kids stayed in a separate studio.) We really enjoyed being there. We're the "more-the-merrier" type, I guess.
BTW -- there is a/c in the room. Sleeping bags can be used year round.
OP -- since you can use ME to haul the luggage, bringing an air mattress is not that bad. But, make it work for whatever makes you and your group most comfortable. For some, that's bringing an air mattress or sleeping bag, for others it's getting bigger accomodations.
Well said.
If you don't mind the sleeping arrangements of a studio and bought DVC more for the resort amenities instead of the size of room, more power to you!
If you planned on using DVC studios then there is a huge percentage points increase in a 1BR upgrade, so a 2BR seems completely out of reach. (The percentage jump from a 1RB to a 2BR is much smaller, especially most 1BR's to an OKW 2BR.). I don't mind anyone that prefaces a 2BR upgrade with an "if you can manage the points". But an unqualified demand just doesn't seem fair.
We ran into the same problem during a last minute trip to Saratoga Springs. A 1 bedroom was all we could get. My 17 yr old son and 15 yr old daughter must have seperate beds. We called down and asked for a cot and was told we could have an air mattress. ....
We ran into the same problem during a last minute trip to Saratoga Springs. A 1 bedroom was all we could get. My 17 yr old son and 15 yr old daughter must have seperate beds. We called down and asked for a cot and was told we could have an air mattress. So that is what we did and I am not sure how comfortable it was it was an extra bed. We will always try to book at the new resorts that have the two pull-outs which are wonderful. Hopefully every resort will eventually get them so we can branch out to other resorts. But until then we are Kidani, BLT and Saratoga. Unless we book a two bedroom which I totally would do as it is worth everybody's comfort!!! THe whole reason we bought into DVC is so we have larger accommodation options.
