We have booked the family magic tour for the first week of January and I am trying to figure out the likelihood of having Peter Pan join us during the tour. I have read some threads about this tour and am just trying to figure out the chances of having Peter Pan with us since he is DD8s absolute fav character.

Please share with me who was the character during your tour and how recent your tour was.
Thank you
Suzy V.

We just did the tour in July and it was Peter Pan. When I researched it anyone who posted basically had Peter Pan for the last year. I hope that helps!! It was alot of fun!!

We did the Family Magic Tour the end of August and it was Peter Pan. He was great! I don't think I will ever forget going to see Philarmagic with him. He was yelling at the screen and just having so much fun with the kids. A man behind me tapped me on the shoulder and asked if that was really Peter Pan. Have a great time!

We were told by our tour guide that we would be met by Peter Pan at the end of the tour. For some reason unknown to us, Peter was unable to make it and we were just supposed to be okay with that. My girls were very obviously disappointed. The CM got on her little walkie-talkie thing and next thing we knew, Aladdin was standing there with the girls. All of a sudden, Peter was a very distant memory! Aladdin was very gracious in spending time taking pictures with them and then ..... he grabbed their hands and walked them on to the Peter Pan ride and rode in the ship with them! Needless to say, this is one of their favorite memories. We have photos of them riding with Aladdin and to this day they are our favorites. So, if you are dead set on seeing Peter Pan, know that there is a possibility that he won't be there. On the other hand, the alternative was pretty darn nice.

They try to make it Peter Pan but if he is unavailable they usually substitute Wendy. While my kids would prefer to see Aladin vs Wendy- I think Wendy makes more sense to the story line of the tour.

We had Peter Pan and Wendy at the end of ours and they rode Peter Pan with us, our two girls and Wendy and Peter Pan in one boat and my husband and myself in the one right behind it. It was great.

We are doing the tour next week for our first time and cannot wait--Peter Pan or Wendy will do just fine. It sounds like so much fun.

We went in August and had Peter Pan and Wendy. It was wonderful. The interaction between the characters and the children is wonderful, it makes them feel very special. We went to Philharmagic with them after the story and Peter was a riot. The kids loved it.

I think it also depends on the size of the tour group.

My DD (age 7 1/2) and I did the tour last December and there were only two familys with just three kids between us. (We went on Monday, Dec 13- great day for an empty MK- the holiday crowds hadn't arrived yet!).

So at the end of our tour, it was just Wendy greeting us. DD was thrilled as she walked next to Wendy over to Philarmagic and got to sit next to her.

Excellent tour!

O that stinks. We have the tour planned for well into the first week of January. I am worried that it might be a smaller tour group also since this is a slower time at Disney.
O well, I can only hope for Peter Pan to make an appearance. The tour sounds excellent and something my kids will love. When I called to book it, the cm seemed so enthusiastic about it.
Thank you

Hi Rui Girl- I have been reading this site and wondering what the family magic tour is. We have pretty well ruled out the fireworks cruise since we are concerned about our son and the potential for loudness. Another year for that one. :wave2:

Mackeyapp--

Family Magic Tour is a 2 1/2 hour tour around the MK. I think you follow sort of a scavenger hunt/map theme. At the end you meet up with a character--usually Peter Pan, but note the other posts about substitutes. It begins at 10am near City Hall. Cost is $25 per person, but there are discounts for AAA, Disney Visa etc. which brings it down to about $20 pp.

Hope this helps. I have to cancel our tour (Fri 11/18 for 4 if anyone's interested) because it's our first full day there and I don't think my DDs (7 and 4) will be able to stick to a tour for 2 1/2 hours before having their run of the park!

hope this helps!

OT - Does anyone know where I can find a list of all the tours available at WDW? I know of a couple but I am sure there are more out there.

This tour looks like a lot of fun. Since your boys are 8 and 9 they might really enjoy it. You can also do a search on DIS for family magic tour . It will work out best if you do an advanced search/titles only. You can read a bunch of reviews/info. from people who have done the tour. I don't know how fast it books up or not, but I have already booked it for the first week of January . I called the 1-800-828-0228 #, requested dining and they transferred me to the tour department to book it.

It looks like a lot of fun I think.

If we only had one week and wanted to do all four theme parks I would not book it. But we be in Disney 8 nights and only doing three parks so I figured we could add a few extras this year.
You might also be interested in the pirate or albatross kids cruise for your kids. You can do a search for it on DIS as well. I am hoping to book my kids into this as well.

Do you ride attractions during the tour or is it basically a 2 hour scavenger hunt throughout the park? Is it limited to one family at a time (which is what I would want) or are there multiple families? I am interested in finding out more about this tour.
Thank you very much.

That's not necessarily true. We did the tour the 1st week of December which is a very slow time. There was only My 2 kids and me and another mom with 2 kids.

We saw Peter at the end and he rode the Peter Pan ride with my DS & the other boy while the 2 girls rode together. Us moms stayed off so we could take pictures of our kids riding with Peter Pan. I think it all depends if Peter is available that day.

We did the tour in August and had Peter Pan and Wendy at the end, they were great, and spent a lot of times with the kids. There were about 15 people in the tour.

I think you just ride one attraction at the very end. There are a limited number of spaces available but it is not just one family. Not sure what the maximum number of guests is per tour - less than 20, I think. I suppose you could book all of the spaces if you really just want it to be your family and no one else. Call 407-WDW-TOUR for more info.
