Ok i need all the help i can get with this one lol me and my wife and little girl age 2 just about 3 are going to disney in march and im wanting to know if shes able to ride some of the old school rides stuff like Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion maybe not The Haunted Mansion but you get the point lol what all do you think she will be able to ride and dos geting the disney babysitting for like 2 hours make me a bad person

I think Pirates and Haunted Mansion are fine for some two year olds, scary for others. If she is extremely timid, you might want to have one parent ride through first, not for the ride experience itself, but to judge whether or not she would be able to handle the sights and sounds (or to know when to cover her eyes or remind her that something is pretend!)

And no, using a babysitter does not make you a bad parent. I recently asked my daughter, now 19, what her favorite Disney memories were, and staying at the Neverland Club one night when she was 4 was one of the top three (and we have been to Disney around 20 times!)

My 2 year old at the time loved the pirates ride but was deathly afraid the the HM

If you mean okay to ride as in safe, yes they are. If there is no stated height requirement, ride all you like. If you mean okay to ride as in too scary, that just depends on your dd. Most of the inside rides at WDW have a dark and/or scary part of to them. Right now It's A Small World is the only exception I can think of -- at MK anyway. Outdoor rides, like Dumbo, magic Carpet, Carousel, etc, do not. Without know your child and her temperment, it is hard to say.

And no, I'd have to say that using a sitter so that you and your spouse can have a date and ride the mountains or something like that together absolutely does not make you a bad parent. Have a great time.

I suggest watching the Haunted Mansion movie before you go and see how she reacts to that. I think the ride was very similar to the movie (effects and scenes) so maybe that may help you judge how she will react to the ride. My 4 year old DD LOVED all the rides that she was able to ride (even ToT in MGM!) There were a few scenes in the HM movie that she had to close her eyes and cover her ears and I didn't think she was going to want to ride the ride, but she did and we rode it on the night we went to the MNSSHP and the scariest part for her was the CMs dressed up- they really went all out and did look creepy! You know your child best.
