Family, Friends, & Celebrities- A MAGICAL Birthday TR!!! *UPDATE*8/27! Final thoughts

WOW! That room looks like so much fun. Gotta love Disney and their attention to detail, straight down to the fridge :thumbsup2 and shower

Can't wait for your dinner and exploring the resort. :)
We really loved the room! It was so much fun to be in a pirate room! pirate:

I might start on the next part in a few.

Yay for converting Dave and Branda! :woohoo: I see more joint trips in the future! Glad you liked your room; I love the carpet! Uh oh...I'm a little worried about the next installment... :rolleyes1
I'm 100% positive we will be in WDW with them again!

Ahhhhh.... don't be too worried!

LOVE the pirate room! I've seen pics of the beds before but not much else so thanks for all the detail pics, absolutely fabulous!

I don't see one in my future due to the darn double bed issue but that fridge is the bomb!
There were so many details I HAD to get pictures. :)

Yes, the double beds are one of the downfalls of that room. The other one will be coming up in my next update. :surfweb: ;)

I brought our buzzing buzzer to the podium and we were brought to our table. I had no special requests this time... last time we ate at 'Ohana I requested a window seat to see Wishes, and it was amazing. We sat down and were excited to be back here!

We were about 3 tables away from the window but we still had a great view of the Castle!

We had a very nice waitress (I can't remember her name though grrrr) She came over to take our drink order and all Juliana wanted cared about was getting a Tinkerbell cup with the light up Tinkerbell that clips onto the straw. The cup costs like $7! Of course we ended up getting it for her.. lol. We saw food getting delivered all around us and I was starting to get really hungry! We got our salad and about 2 minutes later our appetizers came.

We only had a few minutes with our salad and apps before we started getting all the meat too! I was starting to feel rushed but I took my time eating skewer after skewer of shrimp! The meat was so tender and the pork was even cooked perfectly- nice & moist! I must say that Juliana does a great job eating! She was eating the potstickers, broccoli, noodles, pork, turkey and shrimp. She used to be the toughest kid with eating but has really expanded her horizons. Naturally, she does get the chicken nuggets or mac-n-cheese sometimes. Anyways, all three of us really enjoyed the meal but we felt the food was just rushed this time. Next time we are in the World with our friends, 'Ohana is going to be a must do!

We were finishing up eating.... I was probably fitting in just 1 more shrimp, when it was time for a parade around the restaurant. Juliana grabbed some maracas and jumped in line! I was following with the camera.

Limbo Time!

Good thing I was following Juliana because it gave me a few minutes to let my food digest! After the parade we went back to our table and dessert arrived!

I just love this! Bread pudding with ice cream, bananas, & carmel sauce. SO GOOD!!!!!!

We ate as much as we could but all three of us were officially stuffed!!!!!! Another great meal at 'Ohana. They really need to get some handtrucks to wheel you out of here!

Few pics of the meat on the way out.....

We got in to 'Ohana so early that we were done just before 8pm. Not too bad. We walked around the lower level checking out a few stores and stopped for a photopass pic.

We wanted to check out the grounds at night so we went outside and we immediately heard this weird music.. what could that be??? It was the Electrical Water Pageant Parade! (the OHHHHHHHHHHHHH in the title! LOL) We walked to the beach and stood there and watched as all the different floats were going by.

I know it is old fashioned but it was neat to be standing in at the Poly on our second to last night watching it trying to guess what we would see next! We knew that we would be staying up late the next night so we called it a night and headed back to the car for our drive back to CBR. I did spot this hidden Mickey on the way out of the Poly though!

Up Next..... My late night search for Liquid White GOLD... AGGRRRRRRR

OK, very relieved that the "OOOOHHHHHH" was all good! :rotfl: Your pics of the EWP are some of the best I've seen! :thumbsup2 Great family pic, too!

Wow what a filling dinner, but such a fun experience I'm sure.

Love the family photo.

The water pageant is so cool, I do agree those are some of the best pictures I have seen of it.

They really did a great job with the theme! Now if only the beds were as comfy as they were cool.

Notice I made no mention, nor assumptions about the mattresses! I've experienced many, many bad beds at WDW. I think they must shop at "World of Lousy Mattresses" to supply all those rooms. Something like that, I'm sure.

We have a nice collection of those in our cupboard at home. For $7, I'm making my kids use them every day. :rotfl2:

It's been years since we've been to Ohana, and I can't wait to go back in December. Unfortunately, last time we were there, I wasn't paying attention and popped a shrimp in my mouth before I realized they were peel and eat. That was one crunchy shrimp.
Few pics of the meat on the way out.....
Ahhhh...meat and fire. Two of my favorite things!:thumbsup2

I'd say I loved the update, but, you know, you're my arch nemesis now, so I'm not sure should be saying things like that.

YUM! What is the cost of that meal? I want to go, but if we go in Dec the only time available is before the dining plan would start for us. Not sure I want to shell much out of pocket.

Have you ever eaten at Fogo de Chao?

Oh, my Lord. Our oldest son took his girlfriend and me and his dad here. I have NEVER eaten so much food in all of my life. I just could not stop. VERY, VERY EXPENSIVE, but a once in a lifetime experience.

Tim, a great update as usual. We've never done Ohanas...maybe one of these days. I do love the photopass picture of you guys and so glad you got to see the Electric Water Pagent Parade...my boys loved this when they were tiny tots ALL those years ago.

We've only ever been to O'hana for breakfast. Dinner looks fabulous. Going to have to add that to our list for next time.

Ohana looks soooo good, especially the dessert. We're really looking forward to trying this one.

The photopass pic of you guys is awesome, especially how Juliana is holding onto her ariel doll...too cute!

How exciting that you got to see the water pagent....that must have been a neat experience

Hi Tim! Happy belated bday to Mel!

I loved your pics of the Pirate room and I had never seen any pictures of the carpet or the fridge! Those were so cool! I'm going to show Jacob and see what he says. He saw Lesley's pictures from the Nick Hotel and that's all he has talked about since... :rotfl2:

We ate at 'Ohana for the first time in April and LOVED it!! :lovestruc Yes, it's tons of food but so worth it, right? :) We are going back next trip and we are really looking forward to it. You guys had a great spot!

I'm glad to read you're started the PTR for the MAW!! :cool1: I'll be checking it out later. :thumbsup2

Heather

The Pirate room makes me wish my son was still little! he would have loved that as a small child! I have booked 'Ohanas and your TR made me even more convinced I chose the right intro meal to DBF's Disney dining experience!:thumbsup2

Ohana looks awesome, as usual. Glad that you had another good view of the Castle. That rushed feeling would have gotten on my nerves a bit. Glad you took your time. :thumbsup2 Ana is so cute in the parade. :) I'm probably in the minority, but I really enjoy the Water Pageant. We caught it while we were waiting for a bus at MK last year and thought it was really cute.

MEAT FEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so hungry right now! This place looks postively fun, and I can't wait!! It's our first meal together with our little Lady Group- I think it's perfect for our Trip Intro!

I"m glad Ana is spreading her "eating new foods" wings, and was a good eater for you! Maybe she was hungrier than usual after parading and limbo-ing!

Well, in this context, DIDdom works well, doesn't it??!! :rotfl2:
Yes it DID!!!!! :lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

OK, very relieved that the "OOOOHHHHHH" was all good! :rotfl: Your pics of the EWP are some of the best I've seen! :thumbsup2 Great family pic, too!
It is hard to take pics of it, especially when holding the camera and not using a tripod.

I like that pic of us... Melody doesn't really like it too much. :confused3

We love 'Ohana and we were very happy we ate there again!

Thanks!

LOL Mattress? I think there was just a box spring under us! :lmao:

We have a nice collection of those in our cupboard at home. For $7, I'm making my kids use them every day. :rotfl2:
Well I feel lucky I only have one up to this point. :lmao:

Oh... what day you going to eat there?

I think I'd pass on the crunchy shrimp! :rotfl:

Ahhhh...meat and fire. Two of my favorite things!:thumbsup2
I though it was cheeseballs & cracking jokes about Fed?:confused3

I'd say I loved the update, but, you know, you're my arch nemesis now, so I'm not sure should be saying things like that.
I might hold this against you in the future!

YUM! What is the cost of that meal? I want to go, but if we go in Dec the only time available is before the dining plan would start for us. Not sure I want to shell much out of pocket.
It is about $30 for adults.... wait a minute, you are going back? :confused3

Have you ever eaten at Fogo de Chao?
No I haven't. I've never even heard of it! Now I have to go look it up!

Tim, a great update as usual. We've never done Ohanas...maybe one of these days. I do love the photopass picture of you guys and so glad you got to see the Electric Water Pagent Parade...my boys loved this when they were tiny tots ALL those years ago.
I think you should try out 'Ohana, we loved the food both times we have eaten there. There is NO way you could leave hungry! :lmao:

It was an unplanned treat seeing the EWPP (is this how it is abbreviated?)

Here we go... goto 'Ohana, request a window seat, watch Wishes from your seat, after dinner grab a cocktail, walk around the resort, check out the EWPP! How does that sound?:goodvibes
