It was 4:30 when we woke up from our naps. It felt good to get a little unscheduled sleep in. We had to figure out what to do for dinner. We haven't been to DTD on this trip so we figured that would be a good place to find something. I figured it wouldn't be all too busy with the rain still falling.
We started to get ready while our friends were trying to dry out. When we left the house about 6, the rain had stopped and the sun even popped out for a minute. We took separate cars in case Mel needed to come straight home after dinner. I punched in the address to DTD in my GPS and I didn't really pay attention to the way it was taking me. BAD MISTAKE.
It took me on I4 getting off at International Drive.. at 6pm on a Friday evening. There was a line of cars backed up for 2 miles trying to get off the highway at the International Drive exit. A 10 minute drive took 45 minutes. Not to mention the parking lot at DTD was packed to the gils. Dave found a spot before I did. I let out Mel & Juliana to walk over with our friends. I drove around for another 10 minutes before I found a parking spot.
Finally I parked and walked over to meet them in front of T-Rex. We thought this would be a good place to try but the wait was an hour and a half. We had to get the kids fed... it was close to 7. We strolled over to the West Side and decided to try out Bongos.
The menu sounded interesting and I was willing to eat anywhere. We were able to grab a drink from the bar then were quickly seated upstairs.
I ended up ordering the Enchilado de Camarones - sauteed tiger shrimp cooked in homemade garlic, white wine and olive oil in a creole sauce served with white rice and sweet plantains (thanks allears!)
It was good but I really was expecting something much spicier. I was thinking the creole sauce meant spicy? I donno.
Juliana had the kids pizza which she liked and I forgot what Mel had.
It was really great to be seated quickly and we had a nice meal. Since it was still semi-early, we had some time to walk around and check out the sights but not before the kids had to play the bongos.
We walked back towards Pleasure Island and the girls heard the chciken dance and showed us their great dance moves...
The balloon was grounded because it was breezy. It looks like it wants to break out of that net and fly!
The clouds were breaking up and it looked like we wouldn't get wet. We actually were able to see some stars.
When we crossed over the bridge from the West Side to Pleasure Island there was a MC getting people to do some line dances. We stopped and watched for few minutes. Then he called anyone who had a birthday in March or April to come up. Juliana (March) & Victoria (April) wanted to go and stand where the other birthday kids were. The MC walked down the line and asked where everyone was from then the DJ played a song and the birthday people had to do some kind of dance in front of the crowd.
Here he is asking the girls names..
And a mini clip of them doing their dance...

It was cute and the girls had fun doing their dance. We walked around Pleasure Island for a while then decided to call it a night. We wanted to get the kids to bed on the earlier side because we had another park day tomorrow. I stayed away from I4 and drove back on Disney property and we were at the house in 10 minutes.
The kids had quick baths and Juliana & Victoria had a 'sleep over'. Juliana ended up sleeping in Victoria's room.
We had the monitor hooked up and we could hear them talking about where we were going on Saturday. Juliana kept telling Victoria that we were going to see the big 'ball' It was really cute. They talked for a few minutes then they were out!
The kids were sleeping and I kept staring out at our pool that we weren't able to use for the week and I was getting really mad. Dave & I went out and shut off the heater breaker and messed with some of the settings. After it was running for 20 minutes I went out to feel the water in the hot tub and it was getting warmer! After another 20 minutes and it was very warm. Warm enough to go in. I told Melody & Branda that we were going in the hot tub and they laughed at us. Dave & I grabbed a few Coronas and jumped in. It was getting hotter & hotter.
Melody & Branda were just sitting there with their legs in. I told them to go get their suits on. This could be the only chance to use this thing. After some prodding- they agreed.
The girls stayed in for about an hour and Dave & I stayed in the hot tub till 1. It felt really good and I have no idea how we got it working. We had to call it a night if we wanted to wake up and make it to Epcot in the A.M.
Up next... Epcot & Every day can't be cheery.....
