We are going to be staying at GCH Oct 13-15. We have character meal vouchers which allow you to use them at any restaurant (except for WOC meals). We don't want a character meal, BB will be closed during our stay, so we thought we would use our vouchers for either Storyteller's or Napa Rose for an early dinner before going in to the ToT party on Friday. This gives us the chance to get into our costumes and go straight to the party after dinner :cool1:

I presently have a reservation for Storyteller's, but have been toying with the idea of Napa Rose. The details are: Mom, Dad, dd 11 and twin 8-yr old dds. Our vouchers are good for $39 for 3 of us and $20 for the youngest 2. I've eaten at NR (yum!) but never with kids, and we've never tried Storyteller's.

Any feedback appreciated!

Hi. Can I say I am jealous? You’re back to the parks already? You lucky duck.

The Storyteller is a good restaurant. They have both menu service and buffet. You can check out the menu here on a sticky thread, I believe. I like this restaurant, and the food is very good. The down side it is loud.
I absolutely love the Napa Rose. Of course the menu at the NR can’t be beat. When my Son was eight he would have appreciated the NR. So, I guess that is what you need to decide.
Given the choice between the two I would pick the Napa Rose.
Also, I have to ask, what is the event at the TOT? :tink:

I would double check that the voucher would be accepted at Napa Rose, since they are kind of an exception to a lot of stuff. For example, there is no AP discount there. I wouldn't want you to be surprised! :goodvibes

Yes!! I'm on a Disney binge! I'm going with my sister Nov 29 and we're still going in Jan, right?! Thanks for the feedback. I'm leaning toward ST because we're going to the Trick or Treat party right afterward. Sorry about the confusion there--didn't mean an event at TOT, but I'm up for that if you know of one

Hmmm...I hadn't thought of that. The voucher says ANY counter service or sit-down restaurant and the only exceptions it mentions are the WOC meals, but you're right--I can see NR being an exception. Thanks!

Napa rose can take 3 or 4 hours to enjoy.
Good point!! When I went with my sister, we did the Vintner's dinner at the chef's counter (can't remember exactly what it was called) and it took us quite a while. In fact, we closed out the restaurant :rotfl:. I doubt we would spend as much time over a meal with the kids there, but since we're going to the trick-or-treat party that evening (and you can go in after 4, though the party starts at 7) I'm thinking ST is probably the better choice. NR is a savor kind of place, so we'll probably stick with ST. Thanks!
