We are thinking of taking another trip to WDW in June (just went before Thanksgiving):) This time, we would like to split the trip between WDW & the beaches, maybe 4 days at the parks & 3 at the beach. Can anyone recommend a good, kid-friendly (ages 6 & 3) resort that is within 3 hours of Orlando?

Besides Vero Beach, are there any other highly-rated family resorts down there? We've heard good things about Vero Beach, Ron Jon resort Cocoa Beach, & The Resort at Cocoa Beach. Any others or should we look into the Gulf coast instead?

Thanks for your input.

I've always liked the gulf coast for my kids because the waves are sooo gentle. Especially when they were little. Check out Tradewinds resort on St Pete Beach. Very family friendly with lots of activities for the kids.

We drove to Ft. DeSoto beach (gulf side south of Tampa)and loved it there...I'm sure there are places to stay near there! it was beautiful, clean and uncrowded!:goodvibes

Also in a lot of places on the Gulf, they can go out a long way in shallow water. Clearwater Beach, Indian Rocks Beach, Siesta Key .... all nice places.
