Family banned! (HALLELUJAH! Update post 39)

To test my theory, try sending in a community leader application from the home page. If you don't receive an almost immediate response saying, "Thanks but we are not accepting applications, blah blah blah" they are not getting your e-mails. If that is the case, then sign up for one of the ones I listed above and use that to communicate with them.


Than you for your suggestion!! Would I recieve this response as an e-mail, if it is working?

ADDED:.....I just sent them an e-mail with one of my yahoo accounts and I did get an acknowlegement of the e-mail right away. I guessing they never got the first ones we sent through AOL...Thanks again for the heads up! I am also guessing that this why my Christams gifts did not get delivered or, in some cases, recieved!
 
I have tried almost everything to change the IP. It appears ours is "static". Any new ideas appreciated.

Meanwhile...I am having communication problems with VMK.

I wrote in as a "parent" since I was writing about DH's account. here is the response:
Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email concerning your child's ban. Unfortunately we
are unable to discuss specific details of the ban with anyone other
than the account holder themselves for privacy reasons. This is because we
are unable to verify that you are this account holder's parent. We are
sorry for the inconvenience this causes.

However, if you know your child's account details and then use them to
follow the 'player' route, we can assist you.

Again, we are sorry for this inconvenience.

So, I tried the player route and my DH's login (e-mail & B'day) don't work. he said he had the same problem when he tried to "gift" at Christmas. So, if I can't write through my info, and we con't log-in with his, what do we do? Should I write through mine but give them the info. in the e-mail?

If you want to check the account info (in this case, b-day and e-mail), get your DH to log in as he normally would on VMK but log in on the link below.

One more question:...When you click "Contact Us" you have to put in the e-mail you use for the account (in this case it is an AOL acct.). Then when you get to the place that you write your question, they ask for another e-mail address. Do they contact you under that second e-mail address? Because I put his yahoo address in there, since AOL doesn't work.....I hope I'm confusing you all!!....LOL!!!

Yes, that's exactly what I did tonight using the contact us page. I got an automated response sent to my yahoo account within 15 minutes. Yay!

Why not change your address where you checked his birthday.
When I moved to Arizizona from Washington I changed my address at thta same place and it is my permanent records with VMK too. (It also became my new log in ) All your person will change with the email address change. At least this way they will respond to another email not AOL

Our whole family has been ban for 1 month as well.
I have tried many times over to contact vmk.
I have told them about how my son instead of telling the person who started the conversation that he can not talk about that stuff decided to make up a fake screen name for another site that the girl mentioned { He does not go on that site too girly he said. So he did not think or rather he thought he was being funny by making something up :eek: }

I have gotten the same message as you have from vmk_shorty about not being able to verify that I am the parent of the child and try to contact us by using that information. [Which I have tried.] As well as there is a techincal error -close the window and try again later or how about: Thank you for inquiring about becoming a community leader. :confused: OMG do they not read the messages sent? :headache:

So not only are we ban for a month for a kid who did not think but I have not gotten a reply that answers the problem as well as losing my bargining chip in getting homework and chores done. { Do your homework and get VMK time LOL}

I soo miss being on VMK with the people I have made friends with.
I am in withdrawal.:sick:

Hi sorry to hear about your problem the same thing happened to my family last year. The problem here is that VMK do not ban the IP address even though that it what it says. It appears that they store a file in your computer to stop you logging on. You can fix the problem so that you can log on the other accounts in your family but the minute your DH logs on it will stop you getting on as well as it seems VMK also have a file of the banned accounts so if you do log on it will stop you getting on from that computer again. PM me if you would like some help.

When you first use the Contact Us tool, they ask you to enter your Disney Account email, in your case, that would be your AOL account (what you use to sign into VMK)

When they ask for the second email, that is where you put your Yahoo account. That is where they'll send a response to your problem.

I have tried pretty much everything to get my computer back on for the other accts. DH uses his lap top, so the ban wasn't associated with my computer. When he signs on it says his computer is banned. When I sign on it says my IP is banned. If he signs on at someone elses house, on their computer, it says his character is banned.

The good news is, I bought a new laptop last night, so todsay (Tues.), I am going to go to a cofffe place around the corner and see if I can get on.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. Unfortunately, we haven't received any response since I sent the last e-mail, which I think was on Friday.
 
So when you enter the trivia contest on the vmk home page with your log on address of "comcast.net" they are not getting the answer? Because they don't ask for a second email address for the trivia contest. :sad1:
 
well buying a new lap top will solve you problem because you have not tried to log on to the banned character. the moment you log on on the banned character you will be messed up on the lap top to. as i said i have solved the problem before you want help let me know.

I think they ask for your Disney Account and attach your VMK name to the answer you submit through the Contact Us tool.

They'll most likely just message the winners through the game.

I tried the new computer today but when I signed on I just got a black screen. I reinstalled Shock & Flash. Then the home page wouldn't even load. I was having a little trouble with the WiFi connection where I was but was able to access other websites. You may have noticed by now that computers are not exactly my area of expertise!!...LOL!!

I guess I'll try again in the morning!:guilty:

I don't know abaout the homepage not loading, but the first time a computer goes on VMK, it can take a lot longer than you think. Last week I was using my dad's lapto computer that had never been on VMK before, and it kept looking like I was getting a black screen. I watched the boards, and when no VMK is down posts were appearing, I finally decided to just sign in to VMK and wait for a while to see what, is anything, would happen. I pulled out a sudoku game and played that for a bit, and finally the loading screens and eventually VMK appeared.

My suggestion: take something else to do, log in to VMK, and don't watch the computer screen too much. A watched pot never boils, so why would a watched computer load VMK quickly for the first time? I'm not saying to totally walk away from your computer and hope it's still there when you get back, just bring a book, sudoku puzzle, or something you enjoy to do for a few minutes while giving the computer some time to load VMK for the first time. Sitting on a black screen shouldn't hurt it, and the computer might just be taking its time to load VMK for the first time. At least that's what I thought last week using my dad's computer, and it finally let me play.

Good luck getting your unbanned character onto VMK, I hope to hear good news from you soon.

For now, I'll be haapy with playing in shorter increments from the coffee shop until the ban is lifted on 2/12!

You're welcome, and I'm glad you were able to get on. I just remember being impatient with my dad's laptop (I think it's supposed to be faster than the computer I normally use, and I know it's newer) when it was taking forever to log into VMK for the first time. I think that 2/12 won't seem quite so far away now that you can get on VMK a bit, even if it does take a bit of effort to do.:thumbsup2
